Oy VAY! Social Calendar = Full

Andy is getting married today. I still have some mixed feelings about the situation, but only relative to the 3, yes THREE kids he’s taking on, not the girl he’s marrying. I trust And enough to know that if he loves her, she’s got to be a good person. I wish them all the best! Happy Luna Miel! My family just got 4 persons bigger! Guess I’d better start Yule shopping now! LOL

So, yes, the Social Calendar is quite full for the next 6 weeks. I need to visit my family to get them off my back, but dammit, I’ve got events every frelling weekend until mid-November!! Here’s the rundown:
Oct 6: PAWS Atlanta Fall Flea Ball + try to run to Knoxville to shut the family UP.
Oct 13: Andy is in town for Neuroscience until the following Wed.
Oct 21: Decatur Beer Festival
Oct 28: Caroline’s Halloween Party [Evite soon for this!]
Nov 4: Open, but will probably do something with Heathen for her birfday (NOT! -A)
Nov 11: my Pirate Themed Birfday Party [look for the Evite around Halloween]

Then we have the holidays. GAH! The family just doesn’t understand what it’s like to have a social life since they’ve never had one! Yes, none of it is essential – other than the Flea Ball – but it’s important to us and it keeps us sane. Well, I guess it kind of IS essential. But, in any case, they think I’m just blowing them off when I’m really not, I’m busy!

All this is not even including the work I have to do: Oracle, new web client Athena Farms.net, the usual Moon stuff and run this place. Ben will be staying here through October, [Yah, that ended up being a fucking year and an $800 mistake! -A] which means a lot more cleaning and a lot less sex! If the poor little septic tank can live through his TWO showers a day and 2 extra loads of laundry a week it’ll be a bloody miracle!!

Yes, my bitches, the next 6 weeks should be a real test of my sanity! I’ll be good and ready to party every chance I get! You guys are hereby authorised to step in and remind me to BE GOOD at any time, since I know that stress = Bad Angela. :->

For the ‘No Good Deed Goes Unpunished’ File

Once again, I’m burned by someone with whom I’ve been kindling a friendship. Ah, that familiar stang. No good deed ever goes unpunished and one of these days, I just might learn my lesson. Apparently, not today.

It may not be in the crapper 100% yet, but it certainly looks that way. Ugh, this and the thunderstorms have given me one helluva headache.

Sometimes you’ve just gotta walk away and hope that the other person will follow or at least try to stop you. That’s my litmus test. If it’s meant to be, then they’ll speak up. If they don’t, then it’s not worth as much to them as it is to you and it’s time to cash in the chips. Perhaps that’s not the best way to do things, but it’s the way I do things.

::sigh::

Much suckage.

Random thoughts

Just your virtual laundry list of CRAP that is currently on my last nerve and making me quite cranky:

1. I hate the web. I really don’t like any of the stuff I’m doing now and I just want to quit doing it all together. The web has degenerated into two camps as far as design goes, either you’re a high end developer or you’re completely unable to code yet you bill yourself as a “web designer” selling Yahoo sites to people. Yes, I met someone who does this very thing. I can code, but I’m not a developer. I make clean, navigable sites that are user friendly and accessible to everyone. The Yahoo person will end up making 10 times what I make by selling Yahoo websites as real sites and get away with calling herself a web designer. And people will gleefully pay her several hundred dollars for a Yahoo site. I give up. I can’t compete with web ninjas or people who think a Yahoo site is the same as a real site. Just damn.

2. I’m bored bored bored with my life. This is my issue and I’ve got to find something new to entertain myself and make some cash.

3. Nick has suddenly developed the habit of eating my food. Off my plate, from the takeout bag, whatever. I don’t know what this is about, but today I’m sitting here starved to death and must rummage the fridge to eat. Grrrrr.

4. I’m sick of hearing about chick drama. It’s no one who might read this, but I’m currently having to listen to tales of woe about these chicks who have run rampant over a friend and I just don’t care. Want chicks to leave you alone? Then don’t hang out with chicks!! Is that so frelling hard?

5. I’m stessed out by health issues: my own, my boss’s, my friend. It’s giving me an ulcer.

That’s it. Not a long list, but enough to make me a hatah. Right now is just not a good time to want me to listen to any bullshit. I’ve got plenty of my own, thanks.

Now, I must go forage for food. I have a party to attend later, and NO, I’m NOT in the mood. ::sigh::

Can I Get an AMEN?

Today’s quote is exactly right:

There is only one success – to be able to spend your life in your own way.
Christopher Morley

In other news, there are some things I simply must mock:

1. Muslims worldwide are pissed off that the Pope quoted a Medieval text in which Islam is not shown in a loving light. The Pope’s statement: “He said, I quote, ‘Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.'” So, Muslims are pissed by a quote from a quote? And how do they show their loving nonviolent ways? With violence and outrage, of course! Asshats. How stupid must you be to deny culpability then turn around and DO MORE VIOLENT THINGS?? Asshats, every last one of them, I tell you.

2. Spinach is now verboten for the US thanks to nasty ass water used to irrigate the largest spinach farm in the country. That in itself is not particularly funny, but when you find out that the name of the company who has caused the ruckus is called Natural Selection, now THAT’S funny!! LOL! I shit you not!

Their motto: If you can survive Natural Selection, you’re good for the species!

On a more personal note, my desire to be rid of the offensive organ led to actual decent info from June! I was telling her my tale of uterine woe and she told me about a new procedure to end such suffering. It’s a type of endometrial ablation involving a balloon and hot water. No, I’m NOT kidding! So, this is the procedure I shall procure to rid myself of the hurtful and totally unnecessary visits from Aunt Flo. Yay! [It’s 09 and the suffering continues. Feh. -A]

How’s that for a mixed bag post? :-)

Today’s Dictionary Word is SO me!

Ugh, yes, LASSITUDE is definitely my current state.

Lassitude: A condition of the body, or mind, when its voluntary functions are performed with difficulty, and only by a strong exertion of the will; languor; debility; weariness.

I’m suffering greatly with my uterine functions and I’ve decided to excise the offensive organ from my body. I called my insurance lady today to find out how one goes about ridding oneself of organs by choice. We’ll see what the insurance weasels have to say about it. I simply refuse to suffer at the whim of an organ whose function serves no purpose in my life in the first place. The vile organ must GO.

As much as I detest all medical procedures, I’ll make an exception for this. The lasting happiness it will give me FAR outweighs the few weeks of discomfort. Besides, they make pain pills fer chrissakes.

Now, if I could only convince the insurance weasels that a boob job would also increase my happiness!! LOL
