If you want to keep your eyebrows

… from being singed off by the FLAME, that is, do NOT call and ask me to change an entry from 6 fucking years ago! What a load of bullshit! I get a call from some guy we met in 2000 at a place we stayed in Helen, GA, (which shall remain nameless and therefore get no free advertising from me). He starts off acting all nice and then he gets to the point of telling me that his daddy “saw my post about our motel” and was “freaking out” because I mentioned that he (the son) was pagan. WTF? I came up on google, you see, because I’m all over google. THEY are not because they don’t even have a web presence.

So, basically, what you’re saying is that you consider yourself a pagan and make it a point to tell us about it, but you hide from your daddy, therefore, I should root through my site and change an entry from SIX frelling years ago so your daddy can feel better about it? Again, WTF? If my memory serves, YOU told US all about how pagan friendly your daddy’s motel is… Guess not, eh?

DUDE!! Grow up!!

Your daddy finally got on that ‘internet’ thing he heard about and now he wants to control internet content? What a narrowminded jerk of a guy. And you are condoning his narrowmindedness by making that stupid call to me. AND by having no spine.

Do us all a favour and DO NOT contact me EVER again. Do the pagan community a favour and don’t claim to be something you’re not. It’s rude, childish and just plain stupid.

Oh, the post is completely deleted, btw. Hope you enjoy this commentary that takes its place. The info is still in google, which caches pages. I sent them an email to modify the listing and remove my info. Maybe they will…

Don’t worry, the eyebrows will grow back. ;-)

Aim for the Head!

We just watched Shaun of the Dead (which I’ve seen before) since there was nothing on the tube or the magic box. It’s a great movie, but not one I’ll go out of my way to watch again.

My back is slowly getting better improving. It’ll never be right again, I’m afraid. I’m up to about 80% mobility. Tomorrow I go to the Chinese doc for acupuncture. I’ve heard good things about acupuncture for treating disk problems, so I’m hopeful.

I”ll post about the acupuncture tomorrow evening. Should be interesting.

Back & Other Updates

Argh. The back is still hurty, but it’s getting better by degrees. I think acupuncture is my next step. I can drive my Honda and do basic stuff, just no jumping around or twisting my body. I still get stabbing pain when I move certain ways, but I’m at about 70%. As for the hippie, she must’ve been in a bad mood, cuz she’s been sweet ever since the other day. No more lectures, at least, which suits the shit out of me!

Still busy as hell. End of period for the Moon with its usual array of stuff to do. For spice, this week Rob forgot to send the payroll until after the deadline, so we had to beg them to get the checks out and WIRE the damn tax payment. This doesn’t bode well for Payroll1. E-chx has been courting us to switch to their Citrix based payroll system and although it’s butt ugly and clunky as hell (think Win 98), it is LIVE and there are no arbitrary deadlines and NEVER any wiring of taxes. Plus they are undercutting Payroll1 by about $80/mo.

New age person apparently has nothing better to do than examine every page I put up and then tell me what else they want on it. It wouldn’t be as aggravating if a) they were consistently picky about the site rather than once every six months; b) they paid me more; and c) they paid me more. It’s hard for me to put their stuff on the front burner when it’s $15/hr. I should be getting twice that. 2.5 times that, actually. So, unfortunately for them, they are in the to-do list by priority and $15/hr is low priority. I try to get their stuff up by the first of the month, but sometimes it just doesn’t work that way. So solly cholly!

I’m in the process of starting a new website for a local produce company, if I can ever get them to respond to emails quicker than 3 days. It’s gonna be a small brochure site, but they may do online ordering at some point. I’ve also got to get the packaging company site going. They will have just a couple of pages, since they can’t really advertise many of the packaging projects they work on. Product packaging is a very competitive business and quite secretive.

So, yah, I’m busy.

Oh, also, the comment posting filters are still up quite high and they are still catching comments that they shouldn’t: sorry Nick and Dean! If your comment doesn’t post immediately, email me and I’ll fetch it from the spam trap. Sadly, the system doesn’t notify me about stuff that it deems ‘junk’, only stuff that is questionable. Sorry!

Dean: no, it’s not a kidney stone (nor is it a TUMOR!), it’s a compressed disk. Sorry to have missed lunchie this week! How about next week? :-)

Frelling New Age Hippies!

I go to the new agey NSA doc and what do I get? First, I do get an adjustment, for about 10 minutes. Then she proceeds to beat me over the head with the New Age stick and tell me that my back is out because I didn’t do a detox when she told me to and I haven’t changed my diet to the Blood Type Diet like she told me to.

WTF?

For one thing, the adjustment should be about 20 minutes, not 10. Secondly, I daresay that my diet has little to do with the sudden onset of paralyzing back pain. While I appreciate her counsel, it’s not doing me a lot of good right this minute. YES, we should all be nice and “think nice thoughts about ourselves and our lives”. YES, we should all eat fresh wholesome organic health foods that are precisely aligned with our blood types and don’t forget those chakras. YES, we should all sit around and meditate on the state of our souls and how we can “make a better story for ourselves”.

But none of us do. We do the best we can. I take my supplements and I eat a decent diet. Come OUT of me, HIPPIE!! I can’t believe she wasted half my adjustment time telling me that not doing the Blood Type Diet and not thinking nice thoughts about my life (like SHE knows my thoughts, yah) has caused my disk to compress. ?? At least I found out that my vertebrae are not out of whack, it’s most likely the disk.

I think it’s more reasonable to assume that the new exercise routine has something to do with it. But NOOOO, according to her, it’s all my fault for not changing my diet to the one she prescribed a couple of months ago.

Well, look, I understand the importance of diet more than most and I’ve looked at the Blood Type Diet. I think it’s pseudo-science hooey. I will never follow the Blood Type Diet! So I don’t understand why she thinks it’s helpful to me to be lectured about my “bad habits” and lack of “appreciating the pain as a gift”. Um, pain is not a gift, it’s a PAIN, hence the name, PAIN. Duh. Pain means there is something wrong right now and it needs to be addressed right now. She actually said, “when you have the pain, you should think ‘thank you’ and try to appreciate it and not be so NEGATIVE about it”. Um, yah, and don’t forget to sing Kumbayah while I’m at it. FRELL!

Gods, I wish I could just go, get the goddamn adjustments for 20 minutes and LEAVE. I really don’t have the patience to be lectured when I’m in pain – especially about something that I don’t think is relevant right this second. Of course, we should all navel gaze and be vegetarians and think happy thoughts, but I don’t think that it’ll help a compressed disk that’s hurting like a motherfucker.

Frelling New Age HIPPIES. CK! CK! CK!

The adjustments do help, however, so I’ll put up with her stupid ass to get what I need from her. I”ll just have to avoid undue conversation. I don’t want to snap her like a twig just yet, but I may have to if she ambushes me like that again. Just DAMN.

Owie!!

Last week, I was cooking dinner and reached into the fridge for something. I felt a stabbing pain in the lower left quadrant of my back. The pain was quite hurty, but only when I moved a certain way. It went away after 3 days, with only mild twinges.

Yesterday, I bent down to pet MissyKat and the damn thing pinched again. Only this time, the pain was about 3x worse than last week and it was pretty much constant. I’ve never had back problems – neck, yes, but not back. I’ve had pinched nerves before, too, but not like this. The pain is around a 7, spiking to around 9. It’s the most painful thing I’ve ever had, which is not saying much, I guess, since I’ve never had anything bad happen to me ::knock wood::.

As long as the naproxen levels are steady I can can move around slowly and carefully but as soon as they start to drop, like they did around 6am this morning, I’m immobile. I couldn’t change my position in the bed without severe pain. I doubt I can drive right now (I drive a stick). This is a bit of a problem with the Moon end of period looming on Tuesday and other obligations. I’m glad I can sit up today, I was very worried that I’d not be able to get out of bed with the pain I had this morning. At least I can work on Oracle 20/20 and get that boring ass crap done.

This nerve must be pinched between vertebra or something. Nothing seems to help: stretching, moving, muscle relaxers. Ugh.
