Last week, I was cooking dinner and reached into the fridge for something. I felt a stabbing pain in the lower left quadrant of my back. The pain was quite hurty, but only when I moved a certain way. It went away after 3 days, with only mild twinges.
Yesterday, I bent down to pet MissyKat and the damn thing pinched again. Only this time, the pain was about 3x worse than last week and it was pretty much constant. I’ve never had back problems – neck, yes, but not back. I’ve had pinched nerves before, too, but not like this. The pain is around a 7, spiking to around 9. It’s the most painful thing I’ve ever had, which is not saying much, I guess, since I’ve never had anything bad happen to me ::knock wood::.
As long as the naproxen levels are steady I can can move around slowly and carefully but as soon as they start to drop, like they did around 6am this morning, I’m immobile. I couldn’t change my position in the bed without severe pain. I doubt I can drive right now (I drive a stick). This is a bit of a problem with the Moon end of period looming on Tuesday and other obligations. I’m glad I can sit up today, I was very worried that I’d not be able to get out of bed with the pain I had this morning. At least I can work on Oracle 20/20 and get that boring ass crap done.
This nerve must be pinched between vertebra or something. Nothing seems to help: stretching, moving, muscle relaxers. Ugh.

Damn, sorry to hear about your pain. It’s not a kidney stone is it?
