OMG Freecycle is FULL OF FAIL (more)

UPDATE: Now the fucking hippy moderator is getting on MY CASE for reporting that crazy bitch that’s stalking me. WTF? The Mod tells me this:

“Also, in the future it might be better if you don’t name a person like that on the full list. As you can see it really does stir up a hornet’s nest.”

Oh, rilly? So, when I DON’T name the person who picks crap up I’m at fault and when I DO name people who pick up (or not) I’m at fault? FUCK YOU. Fucking hippies. Gods I hate this group! But they pick up my old crap so I don’t have to throw it out. These scavengers pick up stuff that’s too gross to go to Salvation Army, you know? It’s a shame this list sucks ASS as much as it does. Eh, well, if I keep reporting people and fighting with the Mods, I’m sure I’ll get kicked anyway. Yah, I’ll get kicked while Crazy McCrazerson gets to continue fucking with list users. Nice.

Original post:
I’m currently being harassed by some crazed bitch who trolls Freecycle and claims shit then doesn’t show up. I did a repost to advise the group that she didn’t pick up and now she’s being really stupid and emailing in a frenzy that I used her name and email on the list and that she’s gonna get her attorney to issue a cease and desist… Yes, it IS a semi public list and it’s the info she signed up with. MORON.

Why do I always get the goddam crazies? WHY?

And where are the goddam ever so vigilant mods? By god, you forget to dot an i and they reject your posts, but some crazy bitch harasses several members of the group and that’s FINE. Fucking hippy assholes.

If it wasn’t so great to get rid of shit, I’d not use it. But it is. Old razor blades? Gone. Bag o’ corks? Gone. Old crap from the basement? Gone.

But still. Fucking hippies.

Weather, 5th, pets & PackRats

Weather: still sucking. I’m SICK of rain. I’ll take the pollen at this point.

5th Anniversary: excellent meal at Cafe Lily. We started with mussels in creme sauce, Nick had salmon w/ mango and cherry salsa and I had grilled lamb tenderloin with moroccan spices. We had a big slab of flourless bittersweet chocolate cake with hazelnuts and raspberry sauce for dessert and Chef Anthony sent us over some very expensive Late Harvest Zinfandel to go with it – gratis. Thanks, Anthony and the meal was awesome! :-)

Pets: Poor Stormy. She has lost SO MANY pets since I’ve known her. Her cat went missing yesterday and they found him today as they were walking around their neighborhood looking for him. Apparently a neighbor’s dog killed Minion and the neighbor kindly put him out with the trash despite the frelling COLLAR AND TAGS on him. Fucking asshole ghetto dwellers. I’m so bummed about it. He was a sweet cat and this is her second eaten by a goddam dog. I really don’t like dogs much. This also makes me think that’s what happened to Bernie: some stupid pit bull killed her and the owners just put her out with the trash. Fucking NICE people in the ‘hood, lemme tell you. It’s upsetting that people could be so frelling dispassionate. I’ll tell you one thing, if I ever found out who was responsible for Bernadette’s demise, they’d have a bullet in them – person OR dog. Maybe both. But probably just the dog. Let them have a bit of their own medicine.

And finally, to try to lift the mood (although I’m not in a very good one), a shout out to our parallel universe counterparts in Seattle: packratcomic.com. This girl is a female Nick – just look at the drawing and the humour!! Also: their 5 year anniversary was ALSO April 1st. Same as US! WEIRD!

Now, I’m tired from being upset today and I need sleep. Hopefully tomorrow will be dry with some SUN. Frell.

Happy 5th Anniversary!

This year, my Weasel is in charge of the arrangements. I’m usually the planner for stuff, so it’s nice to just sit back and let him do the work!

First thing this morning a big ole box of long stem roses arrived via FedEx (unfortunately they arrived while Nick was still here, which sort of ruined the surprise). He also gave me a card that I couldn’t open until he left. As soon as the front door closed I opened it up and it informs me we’ll be going to Sushi Avenue for dinner tonite. Hmm, odd choice, but hey, I *do* love sake! [update: I can choose which restaurant I want to go to when we go to Decatur! Yay!]

I’ve got a couple of things to do for the evening as well. I’ll be going out later to round up what I need. The gift I got has been here for a week, I just need to figure out how to present it!

So, Happy Anniversary to us! Yay! And to my Weasel: I love you honey! MUWAH!

Chinese Terracotta Army

We took a jaunt today to see the Chinese Warriors today down at the High Museum. Caroline was nice enough to drive the van so we could all pile in and not have to screw around with MARTA. It was me, Nick, Caroline, Xia, Heather and Charles. W00t! There was, of course, no photography inside the exhibit, so you’ll have to be happy with the wiki pics.

The Terracotta Army was found in Xi’an China in 1974 by a farmer digging a well. This army was fabricated for the First Emperor of Qin, 220 BCE.

The exhibit is the largest one that China has sent over, which is slightly disappointing since there were only 9 actual warriors on display. It was a small exhibit when compared to Tut or even Titanic. I don’t blame China for not wanting to send out their shit to the unwashed masses, but I tell you, after seeing pics like the one below, seeing only 8 in formation (the 9th was at the start of the tour) was a little bit of a letdown.

The detail on the warriors is amazing! They really do have individual faces. There were 9 molds for the various ranks, but each one was finished by hand to give facial features like mustaches and such. You can see some remnants of the colours they had when they were new. Also, you could see where they’d been burned by marauders who broke pretty much everything into bits then burned the tombs. Every piece had to be reconstructed from the broken pieces. There are about 1000 put back together, but there are over 7000 warriors in the tomb. A. Maze. Ing.

They also had some of the newest excavated pieces up. They found a musician and bird area where it is presumed that the musicians played and the birds danced. There was one musician, a swan and a crane on display. They also found an area that had acrobats and strong men for more entertainment and the funniest thing, there is an area with bureaucrats – hey, someone has to keep all this stuff organised, even in the afterlife!! There was a strong man and a bureaucrat on display.

Another display was of the half sized horses and carriages, which was awesome until I realised they were reproductions. It was still a really great thing to see these 2200 year old relics and read all about how they were made despite the small number and repros. They did have a sculpture display of how the pieces were made, which was very cool.

If you are near Atlanta, I highly recommend seeing these amazing pieces before they leave April 16 (I think). Be warned, it’s crowded on the weekend! They are extending the museum hours for the last couple of weeks, so go if you can. TOTALLY worth $18!!

FYI: broken links

If you are reading any archives, you may run into missing pics or other broken links (63 of them to be exact). I’ve tossed the old MT archives off the server and I have to manually fix all the broken links. When I migrated from MT, many of the pics and links to older posts did not migrate into the WP database, so I’ve got to relink everything that didn’t transfer. I’m grateful there’s only 63 left to do, but it may take me a week or two to get them all fixed.

That is all.
