This is a catch all post since none of the things are big enough to have their own post. You know the drill. :-)
Remember the post about the Bumpkin who was trying to flame me for leaving East TN? Well, since joining FaceBook, I’ve been inundated with people from High School. On the home page of FB, you get a “News Feed” of what amounts to tweets from the people who are on your friends list. I began to notice an inordinate number of posts with the words “I’ll pray for you” in them. There was a comment the other day from someone who said, “I think it’s gonna be one of those days” and the response was “I’ll pray for you” and that really stuck in my craw. WTF? You need to PRAY for someone who’s having a bad day? That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. And very Evangelical. And VERY COMMON from these TN people. I see at least 2-3 comments every single day involving praying or God or something overtly Christian. I’d like to say, right here and now:
Every word I’ve said about East TN and the large batch of über Christian, ultra Conservatives that live there is SPOT ON.
Good to know my perceptions have been validated by the very people that deny they are like this. Perhaps they should PRAY about it? I’m not saying everyone, but I am saying much of the population is Christian and Conservative. It’s a damn scary place, I tell you!
I was going to write about my frustration with women who breed… but have decided to skip it. It’s old news.
So, the treadmill came back to life, but the walk belt is fubar, which is why it makes a horrid squeaky sound and jerks mightily. $139.29 later and the new belt is on the way.
I’ve beefed up my Twitter feed. FWIW. It’s still a bit on the useless side, but I can see the value of it for comics, writers, news, arts and other things with lots of updates.
The FaceBook ad we are running is working. Their CPC (cost per click) is outrageous (46¢ EA) so we only get 11 clicks per day the way I’ve got it set up, but I think it will be worth the $150/mo it’s running us now. We’ll see.
Has anyone ever been to ConNooga? If so, how’s about a review? We’re thinking of going… Leave a comment!
We’re going to the James Joyce for Valentine’s Day dinner this year. We usually stay home and I cook a lavish meal, so we thought we’d do something different this year. It’s a great deal if anyone is thinking of going out: $50 for a 3 course dinner and a bottle of Cristalino! Call 404.296.5097 if you want a reservation. We’ll be there at 6pm!
Nothing of interest in the referrals this time. No revisits from the East TN Bumpkin. S/he probably thinks I can monitor his/her every move since I’ve got the IP address… LOL
Congrats to the Piazzas! They got the house they wanted to rent over here in the 30032! Yay! And also to Stormy who is about to get her Curves job at the one next to my Kroger. Double yay!!
Ok, enough of this. I need to weed and feed the yard!

Regarding your FB/E TN comments, that was definitely one of the drawbacks of moving back here. Was it that bad in high school? I just don’t remember. As for the bumpkin, I wonder if he/she is our common FB friend who is in Johnson City?
