Victims of our own Flash Party™

ARGH! We had our very own Flash Party™ last night, out of the blue. I guess that’s the only way to have a Flash Party™ – out of the blue – otherwise it’d just be a party, right?

In any case, we drank wine, Pimms and Meyers Rum and smoked too many cigarettes and didn’t get to bed until 2:45am!! I thought the clock was wrong! The last time I checked the time it was midnight, I swear!

It’s worth the tired semi-hangover of today. We talked about several deep issues that really needed to be talked about and I think it was a real turning point for us. Hey, who needs therapy when you can hash things out and have real lightbulb moments with your partner? :-)

Aside from deep issues, we are also reallocating some of our household tasks – I’m now the Julie the Bean Counter in addition to my other Julie roles (Cruise Director, Chef, Cat Wrangler). This shift will free Nick up to focus more on art and comics and give me more to do around here. Without the Moon, I’m feeling very bored and directionless. Someone find me a p/t admin job!! Please!!

I’m trapped here again today with no car. Rhonda is in the ghetto paint shop STILL. You’ll hear all about the Tale of the Ghetto Paint job when I get her back, but for now it just SUCKS that I’ve been without a car for almost a week. I don’t see how anyone can sit at home every single day without going mad.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Today’s Quote

A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same.
Elbert Hubbard

I like this one. I find it’s true both ways: people either love you for who you are or hate you for who you are. Take the recent friendship follies with those who shall remain nameless. We loved them for who they were before they hooked up and don’t like them much for who they are now (hate is not really applicable here). I believe that they do hate me for not condoning their behaviour… although I did not condone it before, either. Eh. The whole thing is too bad, but I’m not going to lower my standards to please them. Real friends would not expect you to change your expectations, would they?

Anyway, it’s still a good quote and it applies to real friends, not flashes in the pan. :-)

Birthday @ Vortex

Thanks to all that joined me for my birfday! It was fun despite it being Sunday and a work night.

As I’ve said before, I have the best group of friends EVAH! We took over the deck at Vortex for a while! :-)

The core group is solid as a rock and that’s a great thing. It’s great to hang out with people who are as pervy, politically incorrect and intolerant of jackassery as we all are.

As some dumbasses just found out: dumbasses need not apply!! LOL

Thanks, everyone!

Aww, Nick is the bestest!

He just put up a thread in LJ for me – sort of an anti-con-assholes thread for my friends to show me some wuv. He’s such a good boy! He puts up with my cranky pants, fear and loathing and otherwise grouchy behaviour and still manages to love me. All my friends put up with my crankiness and still manage to love me – I’m a lucky girl.

I have the best partner ever and the best friends ever.

I love you guys!!

Yah, yah, I’ll be there Sunday

I *do* feel like bolting, but I won’t until after Sunday. I wouldn’t mess up Nick’s plans.

But I am still morose and foul and cranky and overall bitchy as hell.

I’ll try to put all that aside for Sunday but it may take a few drinks to do that, so bring your drink buying money, bitches!!

See ya Sunday.
