Bettie Page

x-post from LJ:
Nick rented “The Notorious Bettie Page” HBO movie that was out in 2005. It was really great! If you like really well done biopics, you’ll love this one. The cinematography is awesome and Gretchen Mol is the perfect Bettie!

Anyway, after the movie I came back here to google some info about Bettie – like is she still living? Wikipedia is your friend! yes, Bettie is still alive and will be 84 years old this year. Here are some good links for Bettie info:

Look how BEAUTIFUL she still is! Pic of her at 80 in 2003: http://mike.wordpress.com/2006/02/09/176/
Interesting art done by an Italian guy: http://www.edoardobaraldi.it/betty-page.htm

She set the standard: 36-24-36 (her actual hip number is 36.5)

Wow, I”m blown away by how beautiful she is in that pic of her with Hefner. Just DAMN. Talk about some good genes!!

Trying to Get Settled!

We are enough into 2007 that I should be settling down and getting back to business…

But I just can’t!

We did our L5P ritual yesterday, comics then lunch @ Vortex, but I couldn’t make myself get motivated enough to leave! We ended up hanging out with the crowd until 9:30! I think I’m avoiding reality!

Today is business as usual which is a good thing. I’m actually looking forward to making the rounds and picking up bills today!

The Moon drama has calmed down so I can focus on new projects both professional and personal.

Foooocus! Foooocus! :-)

2007 Coming On Strong

Well, well, well. It appears that 2007 is certainly full of piss and vinegar so far. Just damn! The first week of this new year has been very very stressful and not a lot of fun. I had the server migration to deal with and the online magazine to do and the new payroll company to wrangle. I was stressing all the way until yesterday when I realised that I’d managed to get it all done. ?? Wow! I was so torqued up I didn’t even notice that everything was on track until around 5pm last night!

I’d been to the Decatur Moon earlier in the day and observed the plague victims first hand. There has been a nasty nirovirus (stomach flu) going around and it laid waste to about 20% of the waitstaff and two thirds of the managers over there. Poor T was hurling into the trash can the whole time I was there. I called in the manager from the other store and offered my assistance if needed. Bad move on my part! Since I wasn’t called in last night, I assumed that I was off the hook, so Nick, Ben and I sat here drinking and partying until around 2am then Nick and I had Jungle Monkey Sex™ for a bit after that. So let’s just say it was 3am by the time we crashed.

THEN the phone rang at 6am. The manager who was filling in at Decatur was calling to see if I could come in and help with the front for brunch. Argh! It was fine that he called me in, but calling at 6am was just wrong! Naturally I couldn’t go back to sleep so laid there until 7:30 when Missy started stomping my head then got up, fed the varmints and started getting ready to go in. I drug myself out of here around 8:45 and headed in. The first couple of hours were a little rough, but once I got some caffeine in me it was fine. Fortunately it was very slow today so I got to jet when K arrived at noon. I really like working in the store occasionally. I’ll have to ask K if I can come in every now and then just for fun. I also plan to do one prep shift just to see what it’s like. I know, CRAZY.

We’re making big progress on our new client’s logos and truck wraps. I think they are going to look just great. Tomorrow I plan to finish up one web page for our other new client so they can have a look to see if I’m the right track. I’ve had about 100 things to blog about lately, but I’ve just been too busy to get it done.

I plan to try to make more time for writing this year. I’ve not been a very good blogger for a while now and I am going to try to fix that.

Well, off to surf and read and call a client. Happy Saturday everyone!

Welcome to my new server!

After much gnashing of teeth and pulling of hair, misangela.com is on the new server.

Oy. I really really HATE moving.

But it’s all here and apparently all working, so we are rid of 2006 and onward we go.

Here’s to hoping 2007 will be far, far less traumatic than 2006.
