More of why I use Mac

[This should be titled: “How to get PC trolls to leave anonymous comments”]

I know everyone thinks I’m totally irrational about my devotion to Macs. The MicroSith drones think that anyone who shuns the Dark Side of the Force must be stupid, non-techie, dense or a slobbering fanatic to a “dying platform”. Yah, right.

Well, I can sum up my devotion to my platform of choice in 3 words:

It just works.

I can do anything a MicroSith user can do. I spend about 5 minutes a week on maintenance (that would be a RESTART with the occasional run of Cocktail). My Mac hasn’t melted down in, uuummm… Well, I guess never. No virii. No spyware. No paying for Norton or McAfee.

Who are really the dumb ones? To me, it’s pretty obvious that I get shit done rather than fucking around with the OS trying to convince it to run. I also don’t spend money on antivirus subscriptions and hours of my time futzing. So, if that’s dumb then I guess I qualify.

Why, why, why ON EARTH would I want to use a virus ridden, spyware crippled MicroSith product that requires constant patching and updates just to get through the damn day?

I have no idea why people use MicroSith products. It truly puzzles me. Why anyone would choose to have the problems and constant irritation is beyond my comprehension. Just the other day I told a friend to copy a DVD so I could get my copy back and he couldn’t because his FABULOUS peecee had been eaten by a virus and was currently dead. And he was totally nonchalant. Is it just that peecee users are SO used to losing info, stuff breaking, software not working and having to reformat that they think it’s normal?

It is NOT normal to have to reformat your computer twice a year!

Your average user at home has no clue about the intricacies of the neverending pile of MicroSith updates, patches, fixes, virus services or spyware. They’ve heard of it, but THEY won’t get this stuff because THEY are on dialup! (That is a direct quote from a home user of MS XP.) And since they ARE on dialup, there is really no way for them to ever get caught up with the Gigs of crap that MS puts out monthly to fix stuff. MS has it rigged so that a user’s computer will phone home everytime they log in with their pitiful dialup connection and start downloading the myriad service packs and whatnot from the mothership. Not only do the poor sods not have any idea this is happening in the background, but it never gets done because dial up users don’t typically stay online for hours at a time. All they see is a S-L-O-W connection and occasionally something popping up asking to install stuff, which they don’t do because they’ve been trained to NOT install anything that they don’t recognize. See the conundrum? So the damn thing grinds to a halt and they have no choice but to reformat. And they lose all their shit. But then they go right back and do it all again! Or they go out and buy another fucking peecee!! ARGH!!

Isn’t the definition of CRAZY when you do the same thing over and over again expecting different results?

Nick just repaired a friend’s HP w/XP that was riddled with virii and spyware. It was pretty much ruined and had to be nuked and paved, as all peecees do. In HP’s infinite wisdom, they don’t ship discs with their Pavilions, no, they have all the restore software on the same drive in a separate partition! Brilliant! I guess if your drive fails, too bad so sad, you’ll be buying a new HP. After reformatting the partition, that 2Gb+ 500Mb RAM HP ran slower out of the box than Nick’s G4 500. There were 53, yes FIFTY THREE huge updates that had to be run on that HP. Even on a T1, it took about a day (24 hours) to get everything downloaded, installed and then restart after every one. WTF?

This is efficient? This is superior? This is why I should run out and buy a peecee? ?? ARE YOU PEOPLE SMOKING CRACK? YOU ARE ALL OUT OF YOUR MINDS TO PUT UP WITH SUCH BULLSHIT!

On the other hand, Nick just bought a shiny new G5 for his work and used the Transfer feature to move all the apps, settings and user information from the old G4 to the new G5. It worked flawlessly. Even the network settings were perfect.

It just worked.

Now that’s what I call EFFICIENT. You peecee users can mock me all day long, but ultimately I know it’s from ENVY, pure and simple. You mock Mac users and insist your way is best “because everyone uses it”, but you know what? Lots of people shop at WalFart, too, and I’ve yet to see anything high quality come out of there. Cheap, yes, quality, no. Kias are cheaper than BMW, too, but which do you want to drive?

So, mock away, MicroSith Drones. I know my choice is a good one and I will never ever change my mind about that. My computer ALWAYS works. When’s the last time you MS fanatics had to fix something, hmmm?

I’ll tell you this, too: these constant peecee issues have made my friend with the HP decide to dump it and buy a Mac. She’s sick of the bullshit and she’s NOT crazy! :-)

  1. Or is it that your just plain to stupid to use a PC properly – checked your log files recently ?

  2. Yay! A peecee troll!!!

I just KNEW one would turn up!

Oh, YES, peecee troll! I’m waaaaaay too stoopid to use a box that requires constant attention and futzing! Oh, YES peecee troll, YOU ARE SO INTELLIGENT AND SMART!

Oh, yes, peecee troll, you feel so strongly about your position that you can’t even leave your NAME on the post.

What a fucking bullshit, adolescent, idiotic comment to leave!

Yah, it’s too bad I’m not as smart as you. I’ll bet you think I don’t even know what referrers and IPs are.

Oh, BTW, OSX is UNIX based (BSD, actually) you twit! I used command line just the other day. I don’t do that often, but I CAN if I want to. So kiss my lily white Mac lovin’ ASS.

    Just DAMN.

    LOL

  3. Gee, why didn’t I think of that? Of course, we’re too stupid to use Windows! I’m SO glad they can leave a constructive comment.

I wish someone WOULD leave a useable comment. Anything I can learn to make using a spybot-infested PeeCee easier would be of help.
