Business and the ‘net

It’s always busy in the first quarter of the year and this year is no exception. Besides all the personal stuff going on, IndigoDragon Enterprises has been chugging along nicely as well.

I’m in the last leg of the Baseline Solutions corporate identity gig with only labels and mugs to layout left to do. The business cards turned out beautifully. I got them done at Imagers.com, who I highly recommend. In addition, this print house is here in Atlanta, which means really fast turnaround times. SWEET!

Crescent Moon is opening the second store next week and I just finished the revamp of the website for that. The site is getting a LOT of traffic, most likely from applicants using the online application. I’m happy that it’s a busy site. I like it when my stuff is seen!! Oh, which reminds me, I need to put my little ad in there! LOL

Now that things are starting to slow down, I need to revamp my own site (indigodragon.net) and update the portfolio, etc. I also plan to do some google ads to see how that works. I may do some google ads here at misangela.com in the future as well. Why not? Everybody else does!! LOL

Feeling kinda toasty

I got good news today: Dave is getting a new kidney TONITE!! I want everyone to pray [to whomever you pray to] for Dave’s new kidney to work and not reject. If it does reject, then he’ll be sicker than ever and it will suck. [4/23 update: Dave did not get the kidney. The donor turned out to have cancer in his organs and would’ve died anyway had he not been killed in an accident. So, though it does suck for Dave, the donor was lucky to have been spared dying of cancer. Isn’t that a bizarre story?]

Happy Earth Day everyone!!

Here at the casa

Last weekend we went on a shopping spree at Lowe’s and used all our giftcards. We got a mulching lawnmower, a cordless weed whacker, a red dogwood, some electrical stuff and some flower bulbs. We also shopped at Home Depot for an 8′ extension ladder and other gardening and home improvement items. Thanks to everyone who got us these lovely giftcards for our housewarming and/or wedding!

We went to the Skot Foreman gallery on Saturday to celebrate Caroline’s birthday then we stopped at Little 5 Points and enjoyed our ritual of comics and Vortex chow. LOVE!!

This week has been rather busy with client stuff and we’ve just about got caught up to where we should be on several items. The only thing left for me to get done is the Crescent Moon website update, which is being held up by software issues and should be resolved in a day or two.

We’ve got to pick up our art door for the Decatur Arts Festival this week so we can begin deciding what we’re gonna do with it. The Decatur Arts Alliance collects used doors and distributes them to local artists to be decorated in any fashion we want, then they auction the doors at the Festival for various local charities. We did a door 2 years ago and it was a lot of fun. We enjoy doing things for our community and this is one of the things we do. We also volunteer for the Arts Festival which is held Memorial Day weekend.

We have no big plans for this weekend, thank the goddess, but Dave invited us to dinner so we’ll do that on Saturday most likely.

It’s calm here at the Casa and that’s just the way we like it!

Back to reality!

After about six weeks of going to parties, giving parties, getting married, spending all our money on the septic system and then more partying, I think it’s time to slow down.

Nick and I are both pretty damned wrung out at this point!

I was gonna bitch more about the whole Fantasm clusterfuck (which has nothing to do with the failed attempt at a room party BTW), but I’ve decided to just let it go. We’ll not attend again and I’ll just write it off as a bad investment of our time. I’m still irked about the Sunday night fiasco, but what’s the point in talking about it? The fuckwits involved will not care and it won’t make anything any better, so…

This week it’s back to work wrapping up the Baseline Solutions stuff and getting the Crescent Moon site ready for the new store opening. The menu is now more integrated and happily, there is only one menu for both stores so it makes it easier on me.

Now, I must shake down more work. The first of the year is always a good time for support and stuff because it’s after the holiday crunch and everyone realizes how much their equipment needs service and/or upgrades. But then the work falls to nothing during the summer. We can’t have that! So, if anyone knows of any web work or Mac support gigs, send ’em our way, wouldja?

We’re not accepting any invitations for about a month, so don’t be offended if we skip a party or two. We’ll get back into the swing in June!

Urban Dictionary

Hey, this has got to be the most fabulous idea, like, EVER! It’s a dictionary that is comprised of entries from everyone who wants to add a word that they use or a word that they think is unique. Ok, for instance, I thought my crazy family were the only people in the world to use the euphemisms “mule” and “possum” for the male and female genitalia (respectively). Nope, as turns out, there are other weird people out there who would actually understand the statement “She never shaves her possum”. Go on, just type in “possum” or “mule” in the search box at urbandictionary.com and see fer yerself.

Can you believe it?

What a wonderful, educational time waster!
