Iron Man!

Wow, was that an excellent movie! All the glowing reviews you’ve heard: all true. I didn’t even find the score to be bothersome – I don’t know what Wheaton was bitching about with that. Downey is awesome and Paltrow is a knockout with red hair – she should consider keeping it that shade. I was also happy to see that many people (sadly, not the asshole I’m going to tell you about) stayed for the end bit that is after the credits. And I mean AFTER the credits – each and every one! I love that. Movie goers have no respect for the gazillions of people required to make a movie happen – which is why I always read the credits and I always cheer for my fellow geeks. :-)

If you see Iron Man, sit your ass down and wait for the credits to roll. It’s totally worth it.

We went to the Regal 24 over on the 85 Access Road to use our most excellent gift card from Russ and Janel – thanks guys! :-)  We were shocked to discover that movies are $10 now. GAH! Even the damn concessions have gone up – which is so ridiculous I can’t stand it. A medium popcorn and drink – ONE – was $11. Yup, $31 to see a freaking movie.

Of course there was a stupid moron with his kid (grandkid?) sitting next to us that had to talk loudly over the whole godsdamn movie. He brought a 5 or 6 year old to this movie that the kid couldn’t understand so every frelling thing had to be explained. Which the old fart did. Continuously. I asked him NICELY at least 5 times to be quiet. He kept blabbing. We moved a seat away, which was as far as we could get. FUCKER. If the kid was his kid, then he’s too frelling old to be a dad to a 5 year old anyway. Stupid FUCK. Way to set an example, there, Chief.

I will tell you this, breeders of the world: Do not take your brats to movies that are inappropriate: too violent, too complicated, whatever. This flick was PG-13, which clearly that child was not ready to see. Do not think that YOUR frelling $10 entitles you to frell up the movie for everyone one else. You are not at home, therefore you can’t explain every scene to your clueless 5 year old, sorry.

If you can’t watch a movie in a theatre and follow the rules, keep your dumb breeder ass and your dumb brats at home with Barney, OK?

It is not everyone else’s problem that you are too stupid to grasp that your child is too young for the movie. We paid to see the film, too, asshole.

This is one reason that keeps breeders high on my list of Most Hateful Creatures.

Along with the loss of IQ, there is a severe loss of common sense, manners, social skills and apparently a complete inability to understand one’s native tongue as spoken by normal adults.

Perhaps the brat has conditioned them to only speak brat? Dunno, but all of you breeders should censure these assholes yourselves. When you are out in public, a breeder will never ever say anything to one of their own who is misbehaving. You people should at least have balls enough to manage your own tribe. For gods sakes, you are an obnoxious bunch in the first place, why can’t you at least reel in the true assholes that do nothing for your PR? Why do we sensible non-breeders have to do it? Hmm?

Anyway, after the movie I was so cranky that I drug Nick up to the Customer Service desk to bitch. The young guy at the desk said, of course, there’s nothing to be done unless you leave the movie and find security, who will then ask the assholes to leave. However,  Regal is testing a new system of beepers that the club members can pick up on the way into the theatre and simply beep security when the inevitable asshole disrupts the movie. This is good to know! We are joining the Crown Club today. In addition, the guy gave us free passes for another movie to make up for the stupid breeder’s rudeness. Wow, now that’s service! At the ghetto AMC, you are lucky to even see service personnel, much less actually get some sort of compensation for your trouble. We will probably take most of our movie business to Regal because of this beeper program and the excellent customer service. Hey, the popcorn is better, too!

So, although I do not hate my breeder friends, it is because they are not assholes. They do not act like stupid morons with an IQ of 50. At least not around me. ;-) The rest of you breeding idiots can kiss my non breeding ass.

Go see Iron Man and hopefully you can enjoy the film without stupid people yammering. It’s worth $10 a head, really.

Happy Mom’s Day!

To all the moms and moms to be!

As you all know, it’s really not my bag, but for those of you who are into that, have a happy day! :-)

Again, to reiterate, I do NOT hate breeders – especially my friends – I am just not interested, that’s all. T asked me yesterday if I’d hate them when they have a kid; of course not! I don’t hate my breeder friends, if I did I’d have no friends! I just have no interest in babies or kids of any size. Don’t confuse disinterest (or my intense dislike of baby spoo) with how I feel about you as a person. All new parents lose themselves as people, which is why I bid farewell to my friends for a few years until they realise that they are, indeed, people with lives outside their kids. It’s just the way it is.

New parents are also fairly dumb due to the intense conditioning they are subjected to thanks to the little darlings they spawn.

Every military knows if you want to condition someone, deprive them of sleep for extended periods and they will eventually bend to your will. Babies know this instinctually: first, you make your prinsoners exist on 2 hours of sleep per night for months. Then, when they are truly addled and confused, simply make them believe that you are the gods gift to humanity and rule the household with an iron, uh, binky. Easy-peasy. ;-)

See? I understand what’s going on and I choose to not go through that madness. You people that do: goodbye and good luck until the conditioning wears off in a few years and you can think and speak full sentences again. R & J: make that a decade for you. Twice the insanity, you know! LOL

Now, why are you here when you could be celebrating with yer mom or going to see Iron Man? :-)

Just damn.

Amusing oblique reference

I just love it when you’re cruising around, reading random LJs, doing the morning thang and you get a juicy tidbit. My suspicions were correct about a certain fucked up person (who worked as an escort) getting together with a couple who are a vortex of chaos themselves. The amusing thing is that my nickname for this person (starts with an H ends with an N) seems to have stuck. It totally suits her and I’m the one who coined it. Ha!

The refiling was done this week, so there should be a resolution to the other messy situation soon. Yay!

I gotta tell ya, getting rid of all the vortices of chaos was the best thing we’ve ever done for ourselves. Granted, it’s a drag having ‘normal’ friends who pop out puppies constantly, but I’ll take that aggravation any day over the constant bad energy radiating from the chaos people. We’re meeting new peeps and branching out our circle to find non-breeders and so far we’re doing quite well with that! (kisses S and J!!)

I’m happy with our direction and we would not be here now if we’d not scraped those barnacles from our hull. Having bad energy people around you brings you down and slows you down. If you’ve got a chaotic barnacle in your life: scrape it off, baby. You’ll be glad you did. :-)

Friday Rant-o-Matic

Here’s a list of random crap that I’ve read or thought about lately, but not had time to post about. No particular order:

  • Obama is a lying little shit. He is a racist (like most black people are, I’ve come to realise after years of living in a mostly black area) and the only reason he’s “denouncing” his pastor now is because he (Obama) has been outed for the lying asshole politician that he is. Anyone who thinks that Obama is pure of heart is a dumbass. He’s just another politician. He’ll have no power to do anything (um, last time I checked the Dems were taking it in the ass from the Reps) and he’ll be just as lame as any other prez is. But, hey, at least he’s not a Nazi like Clinton, right? Mandated health insurance? KISS MY ASS. There is no way to win with the choices we’ve got for prez this year. No way. It’s a shit sandwich any way you slice it, so vote Libertarian and at least show the ruling parties that there ARE plenty of us out here and we plan to take over. Fair Tax anyone?
  • Speaking of politics, if you don’t watch Boston Legal, you should. Not only is the writing and acting superb, but the issues they address are impressive: assisted suicide, euthanasia, alzheimers, sexism, racism, politics, cloned cows for food, the environment and many more. They are fearless. And the main core of the show (to me, anyway) is the exploration of deep friendship. Alan Shore and Denny Crane, played brilliantly by James Spader and Bill Shatner respectively, are two of the most engaging characters I’ve seen on network TV in ages. Watch the show. You’ll learn something every week, I promise.
  • I’m overbooked. I plan to trim our social calendar back, so don’t take it personally if we pass on events. I’m feeling very stressed by having every frelling weekend crammed with stuff to do for others when we’ve got a houseful of projects to do around here.
  • On a similar note, I’m not feeling all that great lately, either. My hormones have gone wacky again and it’s making me a bit, uh, snippy. I apologize for past and future snippage as I deal with this shit.
  • Can’t wait to see Iron Man!
  • Jewelry. Everything that is currently finished plus 3 pieces I’ve promised are class projects and will be gifted. Anything that you guys would like made will cost you – but I’m discounting for friends/family. I would like to have true retail sales up and running by the end of the year. I am helping my teacher fabricate for DragonCon and I hope to have a few things to sell there as well. So, bottom line: if you want a ring or whatever, I’ll happily take your orders and make you a one of a kind handmade piece. Friends/family get about 50% F/F discount. Otherwise, you’ll pay about 75% of retail. I won’t sell my ‘learning curve’ pieces at full retail. When I decide that I’m ready for retail, then it’s straight up retail. Got it?
  • It’s Friday and I couldn’t care less. Bleh. I awoke with back pain and overall malaise. I think I’ll take a disco nap this afternoon and hope to the gods that I can be halfway social for Heather’s party tonite. Gods help me. /end whining/
