This was our long weekend and we had a great time! We did SciFi Friday with margaritas then we slept in on Saturday. After getting up and drinking plenty of coffee we cut down one of the nasty old apple trees in the backyard. New chainsaw = WUV!
We got to bed fairly early on Saturday night and got up at the usual time on Sunday (7:30am). We got our hair cut by our pal Keith and then we put up our new mailbox. We attacked the privet and honeysuckle in the front yard and pooped out around 4pm. I was clicking around and found Ed Wood on IFC so we watched that before the Oscars got under way. I was surprised that Crash beat out Brokeback Mountain, but sometimes that happens when there is too much buzz. I’m very pleased that Reese Witherspoon got Best Supporting Actress. That was cool.
Neither of us slept worth a damn last night so we dragged ourselves out of bed at 8:30am and did some work this morning. I had to work on Oracle, I’m a week behind thanks to the flu. Then we went to L5P for our Monday ritual: Criminal Records for comix, Vortex for food. It was glorious outside today, so the trip was really great. Dani was supposed to call us, but she never did so we did our thing as usual. Dunno what’s up with that girl. But anyway, we had a great time and now we’re home trying not to fall asleep as we type! Heh!
We ran into Jet and we’re on for new tattoos on Monday March 20th. I’m getting my hamseh and Nick’s getting, well, something. :-)
As for St Patty’s, we will be at the Vortex early (5pm) so Nick can get his Rob Zombie signed poster then we’ll prolly come back this way, but who knows, we may just head to East ATL for the Prick Magazine St Patty’s party. I guess it depends on whether anyone is coming down here to join us for the weekend.
