If today is any indication, 2009 is going to live up to its 11 master number status. That’s numerology and you can read more about Master Numbers here.
My birthday is 11, but my personal number is 7 (1+9+6+5+11+11=43; 4+3=7). I adore numerology perhaps more than astrology. I feel that numbers are far more powerful than stars light years away. They are repeated over and over again, which gives them much power in creating what you want. (I’m going to write more about numerology, I think!)
Anyway, 2009 has already had an interesting start (This one goes to 11! It had to be said, sorry.). I’m taking my cue from the big change happening to our friends and I’m keeping my eyes open for changes to hit us (they will NOT be of the same stripe!). 11 is a make or break number and although I feel ready to MAKE IT, I’m reigning in my enthusiasm in view of this event. Perhaps some caution is in order…
I hope everyone will embrace the power of an 11 year and make changes for the better – or at least make those leaps of faith that you feel are worth it. If you feel it in your heart… It most likely is worth it.
Go forth and conquer 2009! Ka’plah!

I like playing with numerology. I don’t really believe it, but numbers can be fun, and it’s a different vocabulary/map to play with ideas in.
Silliness definitely ensues. Here’s a mapping of all the numbers in my life, according to numerology:
my birth number= 10
my maiden name= 9 (it’s an especially silly one, as my first, middle and last names all add to 6’s… so I’m 6,6,6. dude. I am the antichrist)
my married name= 10
russells birth number= 7
name= 9 (first name= 7)
marriage date= 2
philip and jillians birth number= 5
philip full name= 9 (first name=7)
jillian full name= 8 (first name=4, most common nickname=jilly=5)
I’m especially fond of 22’s. I was born on the 22nd, my brother was born on the 22nd, my sister was born on the 12th of the 12th month. I am also especially fond of 2’s for the same reason, and also like 5’s. I like 2’s for their rounded pairness. 5’s I like because they are a set of odd and even numbers (2+3), and it just seems like a perfectly rounded number to me. In addition, it’s my birth months number. It’s half of 10, halfing splitting in *2* the base number of our decimal system. 2 5’s make a 10.
Playing around with these numbers is amusing, but it all seems silly considering that they are all really arbitraily assigned numbers.
Our alphabets 26 letters when other alphabets use more or less than 26, and the placement of the letters is even different in other alphabets.
Our year system is arbitrary, also. It counts from an arbitrarily decided date that I don’t even believe in (the birth of jesus, when even the historians that believe in a historical jesus don’t believe year 0 *is* year 0). Other cultures use different year 0’s.
Some calender systems use 12 solar months, but others use 13 lunar months, or even whole other systems with base 10, base 12, base 50, etc.
It’s all so random and dependent on agreeing, egotistically, that our system is the correct absolute system.
Even if you go so far as to say that each different numbering system influences those who live within each one, and therefore *all* are correct, you’re just talking mindset.
With all that in play, I just can’t see it as a science so much as something to play with, and something that is no more true than anything else is true.
Believing in numerology, for me, is akin to believing in the mind exercise of believing in any piece of nonsense for a time.*
I can ramble on this subject for quite a while…
*Robert Anton Wilson made it a habit to every single day use a different calender system, thus nullifying in his mind the pernicious habit of believing in any man created absolutes. This is as true as that is as true as this. -This mindset being most advantageous to anyone who plays with counsciousness.
