No, not a rubber hose and a tutu… :-)
I’ve been hella busy with my jobs, as I’ve mentioned and I still am. In an effort to help our workflow, we bought an HP 2550 Color LaserJet off of ebay for $300 including the toner! We found a new one at Fry’s for $250, but the catch is that the toner carts are about $80 each and you need 4, so do the math. We got the HP used with toner and the fuser drum (in other words: operational) from ebay and it rocks the house! We’ll have to buy a magenta cart soon, but we found those on ebay for around $20. Gotta love ebay!
We also got a new set of deck furniture from Value City. It’s about twice the size of the old one; a rectangular glass table with 6 big chairs and a square umbrella. The chairs are heavy duty mesh rather than the cheap fabric so I think they will last for quite some time. This set was only $200! We don’t officially have the money to buy such things, but since our cheap set finally disintegrated last year, we decided to go for it. Hell, we got 3 years and MANY parties off the cheap $88 set from Big Lots, we figure this set is good for at least 5 years!
Hmm, what else?
There is always plenty of drama from the various Vortices of Chaos that we know. It’s unfortunate, but there’s nothing we can really do to help with any of it. We’ve attempted to toss our hats in the ring to help with a couple of things but to no avail. We assume that when it’s time for the use of one of our major resources, we’ll hear from folks. Which is fine. We will do what we can – as long as it does not involve taking charge. We (well, I more than Nick) have been burned far too many times by falling for that little trap. We will do what is asked of us if it is specific. So far, we’ve not been asked for anything so there’s not much to do.
I’ve got to get the girls’ birthday presents out today if I can find boxes. And all the valentine’s cards, of course. :-)
I do have to run over to Northlake to do some filing, but other than that, I plan to be right here at the Mac working on my two new web clients. Oh, and I may get a haircut if Keith has an opening. Yay!
