Andy sent me this pic of Hobbes from probably ’95 or ’96. Andy was leaving work at the lab and dropping off some boxes to the dumpster when he noticed a small white lab mouse that had gotten thrown out with the packing materials they are shipped in. Andy grabbed the varmint and brought him home.
We called the mouse Bitey because he was not tame and would nip us everytime we picked him up. Lil bastard! We were curious to present this “prey” to the Dickens and Hobbes to see what they’d do. (I don’t think DJ was around yet.) As we suspected, they looked at it and were otherwise not impressed. (Male felines do not usually hunt.) Hobbes was on the couch, so we decided to see if he’d do anything if we put the mouse ON him. Heh, as you can see below, he was quite unconcerned with the lil white mouse:

Yep, that was our Hobbes! As long as there’s a place to nap and Food In Bowl, it’s aaaaall good. :-)
He was a sweet laid back boy, our Hobbes!
