My Hobbes is gone

Andy called me a minute ago. Hobbes didn’t make it. His blood pressure kept dropping off and then he went into respiratory arrest. He passed this afternoon. Andy made the decision to keep him from suffering with the lung failure and I’m very glad he did that rather than hold on too long like I did with Dickens.

I only have one boy cat left. ::sob::

My heart is broken and Andy is beside himself with grief. Please send condolences to him at syndromezed at gmail dot com.

This is SO hard. I really hate it when my intuition is right and it’s not in a good way. I suppose this is part of why I never got an urn for Dickens or spread his ashes. I guess I’ve been waiting. I don’t know. Andy is bringing Hobbes home either at DragonCon or the Sleep Meeting in November and we’re gonna have a service for them both and perhaps spread some ashes. It would give nice closure, I think.

Needless to say, Andy still needs help with the huge debt of Hobbes’ illness. If you’d like to help, please use the Paypal button [removed].

We thank everyone for their support during this long week of hell.

Bast has taken her boy home. He didn’t suffer. May he sit in his fort at the window for all eternity.

You’ve thrown off my groove as far as not crying, but I truly appreciate your taking a moment to offer condolences. I’ll pass them along to Andy.
