Aside from the all-consuming traffic ticket, I have been mulling over some other stuff going on in my ‘hood as well as some political stuff.
First the ‘hood. A girl came knocking on my door the other day, looking for a jump. Her car died right down the street and she was trying to get home a couple of streets away. She had her baby and boyfriend with her. It’s important to note that they were snowflakes like me. So, I put my work on hold and go to knock on doors and try to find her some jump cables since ours were in the truck with Nick.
No one was home and the few that were had no cables or wouldn’t come to the door for a snowflake. I met my neighbor Victor’s wife Linda for the first time and we chatted about our street and the ruffians who moved in a couple of houses down from mine. As we chatted, the girl’s boyfriend knocked on their (the ruffians) door and they said that they had no cables. Then all 3 of them came out on their porch to watch the white folk try to find help. Keep in mind, there was a baby in the car and these kids were maybe 22 years old. Eventually the girl found someone home and that lady brought her back and they jumped the car. The black guys just sat there. I dunno, it just seemed rude to sit there smoking and talking on their cell phones rather than come out and at least try to help. It’s also interesting to note that the lady who helped is white. Nah, race is not a factor in the ATL.
Which reminds me of that ho Cynthia McKinney. Gods, I hate her.
But anyway, I was reading a story about Duhbya’s latest trip to NOLA and how he totally ignored questions about aid and didn’t even look at the state of “recovery” or lack thereof. What a dickhead. He’s giving speeches about how great NO is and how everyone should run right down there and book a convention, all the while the city is YEARS away from being able to host huge events or even throw a good Mardi Gras. Duhbya has got to be the most self involved, arrogant bastard that has ever held office. Yah, I’m sure he’s not, but damn he’s an ass.
What does he care? He’s in his last couple of years in office and he totally does not give a rat’s ass about anything – not that he ever did care about anything that didn’t involve his personal powerbase or his homies.
Meanwhile back at the Supreme Court hearings for Alito, the Dems sit by and do nothing while Alito sails through his confirmation, cheerfully avoiding any reference to his Right Wing agenda. He has a 25 year history of opposing Roe v Wade, but I challenge you find any of THAT in this “hearing”. Fucker.
