It’s been a very fun and productive July 4th weekend for us! We had Movie Night on Friday. We saw Spider-Man 2 and Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban and both were very good.
Saturday we did massive amounts of yard work. It’s been raining for about 3 weeks straight, so the yard was a bit out of control. I mowed the front and back yards while Nick did all the trimming. Nick also cleaned out the gutters – a truly icky job! After all this work, we drug our tired starving asses to Crescent Moon for a lovely dinner. We came back home and hung out with Rebecca for a bit. We decided to go ahead and shoot our fireworks since the weather guy said it would surely rain on Sunday… of course it didn’t, but had I held onto the damn things, it SURELY would have rained. Feh!
Sunday was Beth and Robert’s July 4th Party, which is always a fun event. I made Angela’s Shrimp Cups™ and artichoke dip. We hung out, ate, drank beer and ate some more. We walked up to Trackside to see the Decatur fireworks show around 9:30. It was FAB, as always.
Today, despite our fatigue, Nick went to work for a while and I cleaned the bathroom. When he returned we washed both cars and waxed them. By the end of that, we were too tired to think so we ordered chinese and we’re currently vegging out to Stargate. We’ve got to stay awake for the Stargate special tonite about the new show called Stargate Atlantis. It’s gonna be a task to stay awake, I can tell ya.
Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
