Today my mind is all over the place, so it’s time for a list. Random thoughts and ideas from the past few weeks that are banging around in my head and need to be emptied out:
- the Taqueria is finally almost open (tomorrow 11am). Today is the big day for the menu boards and other menus for the store. The Open House was last night and WAY fun! Thanks to Emily and Lara for hanging out with us!
- my brain is fried. I keep stopping this post and gazing into the yard – not that I can see anything, I don’t have my contacts in yet…
- Ferrets are SMELLY. Really smelly. Smelly enough to get into your clothes and ON YOU. Ick! They are cute, but the STANK. Oy!
- Hedgehogs are hella cute. OMG, they have the cutest noses EVER. Really adorable. I can’t think of a reason to actually have one, but damn they’re cute! They do not smell, as far as I can tell. My nose was full of ferret stank at the time…
- I love my kitties. They smell good. :-)
- Did I mention my brain is fried?
- I hate it when people can’t understand the urgency of being involved in a restaurant opening. Trust me, it’s all consuming. So, if you’ve called and I’ve not called back, that’s the reason. If you’ve called and got me and I try to get off the phone, that’s the reason. If you’ve seen us socially in the last month, consider yourself special – cuz we ain’t got time for no jibber jabber!
- Sometimes I just want to run around nekkid. Green will understand this. Today, I’m sitting here thinking: “I’d really like to go fill the bird feeders nekkid.” I’ve no idea why this thought occurred to me, but there it is.
- I still have the Oracle site to do this week. Bleh.
- Last night I saved Nick from himself. He was strung out from insomnia the night before and on a mission to stay up too late and drink too much beer. I managed to wrangle him to bed under protest at 12:30 or so. Role reversals are always odd.
- Speaking of roles. I feel the need to reach out and assist confused, addled and otherwise squirrelly individuals. I know it’s a total and complete exercise in futility, but I always have the urge to help them. It must be hard to try to live life when you’re running in circles all the time. I was very fortunate to have been born with a double dose of common sense and I’m grateful for that every day. But I’ve learned to keep it to myself when dealing with squirrelly people. They are so invested in their little confused patterns that they won’t listen anyway. Best to let them run themselves out.
- I need to make some jewelry. It’s been 2 weeks. I doubt I’ll get a helluva lot done this summer in the silversmithing field. Wah!
- If anyone wants a Dragon Con room on the THIRD floor of the Hyatt above the bar, please email me. I’ve got one reserved that we will not be paying for. I intend to USE the room, but one of you bitches can pay for it for a change. If I don’t have a taker before we head to CA for Comic-Con, I’m releasing it. You’ve got until July 21st. The transfer fee is $20 I think.
- Ah, Comic-Con. We’ve got to produce a bunch of comics and get a CC sampler put together next. No rest for the wicked.
Ok, gotta get the menus sent to their various destinations. I’m so freaking tired. Brain. Is.
