Well, I guess if you have to go, having a heart attack and dying is a quick way to do it. Carlin had not been ill and was working the week before he died. He had chest pain on Sunday afternoon and was gone by Sunday night. Full Story Here.
Sucks, though. I was hoping to catch one of his shows. He was a trailblazer for all comics that came after him and he will be missed. I’m glad he’s immortalized in the History Channel’s documentary History of the Joke. There’s also an HBO special that is finished but not out yet – It’s bad for ya! – I hope they show it.
I hope he didn’t forget his stuff… :-)

HBO will be premiering It’s Bad For Ya Friday night…HBO 2 and HBO Comedy will be running marathons of his prev specials
Did 14 of them for HBO…the most of anybody and most likely will always be the most of anybody…
And of course we don’t have HBO. Grr. We’ll hafta wait for the DVD or for it to come to Comedy Central. If we’re very lucky they’ll have some of this on Comedy Central, too.
