Friday Five 12/19

1. What decade did you attend high school or college? High School: 80s College: 90s

2. What clothing fashion from that time are you glad went out of style? All of them! Ha! Particularly parachute pants, skinny jeans and shoulder pads.

3. Do you still listen to the music from your high school/college years on a regular basis? Not really. High School was Southern rock, Hair bands, Pat Benatar and Stevie Nicks. College was grunge. I listen to all of that plus the standards such as AC/DC, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, etc. I like to stay current.

4. What hairstyle/hair color did you wear during high school/college? High school: big hair with The Roll (“feathered”). My hair stayed fairly big into the early 90s (I did NOT have The Claw malady that so many chicks had). I started coloring it back to its original red in 1986 and it’s been red or some variation of that ever since. I didn’t do odd colours until the 2000s.

5. What was “the cool thing to do” while in high school/college? I’ve never been much of a trend setter or follower, so I don’t really know what the Cool Kids do – nor do I care. I’ve always done my own thing.

ARGH!

What a frelling day!

I’ve been sitting here ass deep in emails and logistics all day. Just damn. One of my old web clients is moving on – for which I’m very GLAD – but the new people are being dicks about the domain registration. Eh, what the fuck ever. After several emails back and forth I’m just saying fuck it, if they want to pay to re-register the damn domain, go right ahead. Asshats.

OMG, and the equipment liquidation is keeping me hopping. I got all 73 photos processed and put into a gallery so hopefully that will relieve some of the enquiry emails. Rob SO owes me!

The Weasel Christmasâ„¢ cards are halfway done. Well, the card is done, but I’ve only got about half signed, stuffed and addressed.

Add to all that, phone calls from everyone and their mother…

Yah, it’s been a day.

Time to drink! CHEERS!

Comment re-post

I liked my comment on Green’s post that I decided to repost it here. My views on healthcare [or lack thereof] and why HSAs [Health Savings Accounts] are NOT the answer. This is edited to be stand alone.

I have to warn everyone off the grand experiment of the HSA. We did it last year and got screwed royally. Not only does NO ONE understand it, but you pay a premium each month (ours was $250 or so) for absolutely nothing. You get no coverage of anything. Which means that YOU get to pay insurance rates for all your healthcare. YOU get to pay the $150 bill for a Dr visit. YOU get to pay for the $652.33 blood work. YOU get to pay $22 PER PILL for your prescription. (Real numbers. MINE.)

Chat clients

I’ve been trying out Adium for the last coupla weeks, specifically for the folks who use Gtalk, Yahoo or other chat clients. iChat runs on the AIM network and I understand how much the AIM client sucks, so I’m trying to be available to those who use the other options. However, since the people I was using it for never seem to actually CHAT, I’ve gone back to iChat. If anyone would like to chat on a non-AIM network, let me know and I’ll switch back to Adium.

Adium is an all in one chat client that allows me to connect to ALL chat networks via one handy application. I recommend it for anyone who needs to use several networks. Oh, it’s only OSX, sorry Winblows users, you’re on your own. ;-)

Inverse relationship

Why is there an inverse relationship between your hunger level and the time it takes the Chinese to arrive? WHY?

Starvation = Slow Ass Delivery (aka SAD)

SAD indeed!!
