My sweetie outdid himself this weekend. Not only did he install a closet system Saturday afternoon, but on Sunday he mowed the back yard, cleaned out the ground cover where the studio will be and rewired the office phone/dsl line. He’s amazing. I’m a lucky, lucky girl to have such a wonderful man!
I <3 my Weasel!
The dsl has been for shit forever and this week the phone has been acting up as well. I was in the basement futzing yesterday and decided to inspect the phone lines more closely since clearly there was an issue. Well, sure enough, the lines are frelled. Not only are they strung all over the place, but they are spliced with tape in not one, but two places. The genius who installed the alarm system spliced into the office line a second time – no wonder it’s never worked right. I’ve looked at the lines before but obviously not seen how horrible they are. And that is not even getting into the mess in the box on the outside of the house. It looks like the work of drunken lemurs.
Fortunately for me, Nick (Wiring Weaselâ„¢) has much experience with bad wiring and he ran a fresh wire for the office phone/dsl. I simply cannot understand wiring like this, so it’s a good thing he can! I can run fresh circuits all day long, but figure out a convoluted mess like that phone box? No. In the process we lost the phone jack in the kitchen, but we never use it anyway, so it’s not a big deal. We tested the alarm and it is somehow working despite that wire being cut. ? I really don’t get it, but Nick insists it’s all quite normal.
My schedule has firmed up. I’ll be flying out the first weekend of Oct and driving back.
So, today I will sit here and work on the magazine until I need a break, then I shall trundle to Kroger for kat fud and some other restock items. The usual. Oh, but I’ve got one more post before I go jump around like a flying squirrel…
