Well, I stopped in Hancock Fabrics today and got an easy-peasy pattern for the skirt of the dress. I’ve given up the notion of getting a used wedding dress, mainly because very few have a strapless corset top. So, I’ve ordered the Corpse Bride wig off of eBay (I pray it gets here in time) and I’ve got my eye on a perfect corset on eBay as well. If I go this way, then I can make the skirt as close as I can to the actual character. I’ve got a girl lined up to do my makeup, too, so it should be fabulous!
If I pull this off, it’ll be a miracle! :-)
Just websurfing stuff on the Corpse Bride! I too am making a costume to wear to the movie’s opening. I snagged a lovely dress off ebay that I’m going to decorate, distress and decay; have a wig ordered that I’m going to style, and it gave me a perfect excuse to finally buy a corset. Ain’t this fun! It’s be great to see all the different bridal gowns people come up with!
