Dickens update

Dickens is in renal (kidney) failure. There is nothing more to be done for him. I brought him home because that’s what he wanted, but it’s really REALLY hard.

He is not in any pain, he’s just winding down. His blood pressure is very low, he is sleeping.

I pray to the goddess that she takes him soon.

I can’t stand this much longer. I don’t want to force him to go – I feel that it’s his decision. He’s always been a willful child and he’s no different right now. He wants to be home, he wants to do his thing. He calls when he wants me and then he goes back to sleep. I have a tranquilizer that I can give him if he gets agitated and that may push him into leaving this life if he so chooses. Time will tell.

I’ll not be answering calls or emails until this situation concludes. I just can’t think or do anything but sit with him and cry.

Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive in this very difficult time.

I’ll post again when he passes.
