American Politics and Other Follies

First off, Americans are notoriously uneducated when it comes to politics. Most don’t even know about third parties and most don’t even know who they are voting for at all. It’s a sad state that this country is in, my friends.

Politics in America have been increasingly encroached upon by religion. This is a disturbing fact and it’s one that can lead this country to ruin. If you’ll read some history, you’ll notice the influence of religion leading to the downfall of many empires. The Roman empire is a notable one. It astonishes me that a country founded upon separation of church and state has ended up almost as much a theocracy as any country in the Middle East. There’s a very detailed book about this: American Theocracy by Phillips. It’s a dry read with lots of statistics, but an eye opener nonetheless.

While we’re on the subject of reading, another book I’d HIGHLY recommend is Reckless Endangerment by Morgenson, et. al. This book is a detailed account of just how we ended up getting screwed by our own government, who allowed the greed of banking and Wall Street to run rampant. You Democrats out there who seem to think that the whole of all evil is rooted in the Republican party need to understand that it was Bill Clinton and his cronies who allowed this to happen in the first place. ALL the events that came down in 2008 and brought us to the brink of destruction as a country go back to the Clinton days.

If Americans would READ and educate themselves, perhaps our government could be held accountable, but as it is, the politicians know that by bringing in religion and class warfare they can keep stupid Americans distracted and do as they please.

I am neither Democrat or Republican. I am sort of a Libertarian, but mostly I’m a Centrist. There is not a single asshole in politics who represents those of us who have a clue and refuse to be baited by the current two party system. Keeping a two party system in place is also high on the agenda of politicians, because they can keep everything status quo. They don’t want a third party upsetting the apple cart and cutting into their profits, after all.

Sadly, it’s pretty easy to keep the status quo since most Americans are ignorant of third parties and believe that any vote that is not for Dems or Reps will be “wasted”. Because that’s what they’ve been taught by the current regime. It’s not true, of course, the more votes that go towards any candidate outside Dems and Reps IS counted and CAN introduce a third party. The US has stacked the deck against third parties since Reconstruction. Wiki shows some of these issues.

The bottom line is that the US has become dangerously close to a theocracy and our government pretty much runs amok. If you do some reading, you’ll see just how fucked up things are and it’s clear they are not going to get any better without BIG changes. Just look at Facebook. I see partisan rants every single day – most are raving about the beatific perfection of Obama and the Democrats. It makes me want to vomit. If these people spent half as much time READING and learning about what has happened and how the current assholes in charge are pretty much exactly like the previous assholes in charge, we might have a chance at turning things around. But if FB is any indicator, most people just don’t get it. They buy into the two party system completely and can’t understand why things stay fucked up.

I’ve said it before and I still believe it: Idiocracy is a documentary. This country is owned by big business and in turn the politicians are paid ass monkeys of big business. Education is in the toilet. Infrastructure is failing. Religion has its own party for fuck’s sake! I know I am in a very small minority who can see any of this.

And one more thing. Requiring ID to vote is NOT blocking ANYONE from voting. If you want to vote, then get an ID and vote. The reason we do this is because illegals DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE. We give illegals free education, free health care and even welfare as it is. But I’ll be damned if the goddam illegals should have a say in VOTING. That is for CITIZENS. I challenge all the idiots who whine about how awful it is to require ID to find ONE other country in the world who allows any asshole to walk in and participate in running the country. ONE. For that matter, find me ONE country in the world who allows anyone to just come right in, make themselves at home and never require citizenship to partake of government programmes. Try waltzing into Mexico. You’ll be tossed out as soon as you try to get a job. Immigration is another area where the US is just plain stupid and whiney hippies just don’t get it.

Citizenship is a mechanism for collecting TAXES that pay for all the “free” shit such as education, welfare and other government affairs. We already support millions of illegals as it is, not to mention the BILLIONS that go straight back to Mexico via illegals. Did it ever occur to any of you people that supporting millions of people and pretty much another country might be one reason why our economy is strained? Yah. Think about it.

The United States is one fucked up place right now. With a populace of uneducated Bible beaters, hippies that want to allow everyone to come here and live for free and a government with no oversight, I really can’t see it improving soon. Do some reading. It’s kind of a bummer, but knowledge is power and the more you know, the more you can try to fix things.

Until then, we’ll just keep planning for our Collapse of Society Compound. ;)
