Weight Watchers ca. 1974

I remembered these disturbing Weight Watchers recipe cards from the 70s. It will make you glad that you weren’t fat back then – jaysus!

All the images are from Candy Boots, thanks to that site!

OMG, what’s up with the MACKEREL?

Not mackerel PUDDING!!

Sweet gods in heaven:

MELON IS NOT TAN!!!

And don’t forget to marvel at the lovely props with each and every card:

Peach melba always makes ME think of jaguars!

If people really did eat shit like this, then it’s no wonder McDonald’s tastes good to Americans. GAH! Dried up tasteless nuggets would be gourmet next to Fluffy Mackerel!

Enjoy! :-)

  1. My grandmother did that weight watchers diet..Ugh!
And don’t forget the machine with the belt attached to it. You stood on it, and the belt vibrated up and down. Shook your whole body, which was supposed to make you lose weight.
Cant think of the name of it.

  2. my grandmother did something similar, i can’t remember what it was called, but i remember those recipe cards, and gazing in horror at the pictures. there was lots of cottage cheese involved.
