This weekend ended up being far from the semi-relaxing one we were aiming for. We had a birthday party Friday (yes, there was puking by the birthday boy LOL) and stayed out later than we intended. Saturday we slept in and then got a call about an impromptu birthday party that night, which pushed some stuff we had already lined up into Sunday. There was already a wedding lined up for Sunday, so stuff that was pushed from Saturday ended up going into Monday. Get the idea?
Monday morning was full up with the dentist. We have yet another new dentist (our dentist office is corporate and SUCKS) who wanted us to use this stuff called “fluoride varnish,” so we got our teeth cleaned then left with waxy bioadhesive on our teeth which had to stay on for 4 hours… Yah, NO, we were starving by 2pm so we tried scrubbing that shit off. That shit is ON there, lemme tell ya. I believe it would be more efficient to put it on at night before bed. I finally got most of it off the front of my teeth after scrubbing with baking soda and we took off to get lunch and do some tasks that were left over from the weekend.
We tried the Porter Beer Bar in L5P again, but like the other two times we tried it, it was closed. This time I sent an email to the owner and she told me that it was a plumbing problem. I did some internet research and found that they have very mixed reviews so far. Part of it is trying to do a bit more upscale in L5P – the asshole locals have complained that it’s too expensive and is “too high falootin’ to serve PBR.” Fortunately, there are more locals who are happy to have a bar that’s not a dive in L5P than there are the stinky indie rock kids who are broke. Heh.
So, today feels like frelling Saturday to me. When you work all weekend and are booked to death, the work week can feel more laid back than the weekend did. Bleh.
I’ve decided I will not be having a Halloween party. I’ve been booked to death lately and I’ve still got the trip to do, so I don’t want to commit to a party right now. Sorry, dudes. However, there is a big ole outdoor hippy festival with costumes, live music, etc. at the Land Trust over off of Arizona Ave. all day Friday Oct 31. We may attend that for at least a little while (or Amy at the Vortex will kill us!).
As I’ve mentioned, ThinkWeasel! is having a big day this Friday Oct 17. It’s our 2 year anniversary and our 100th comic!! Please come by ThinkWeasel.com to express your congrats to our favourite Weasel. We’ve got the Decatur Beer Festival Saturday morning, so if we go out, we won’t be out late. Either that or I’ll cook a gourmet meal here and we’ll have a quiet celebration here. Not sure yet.
For further entertainment Saturday, we’ll leave the Beer Fest and head to L5P for the Halloween Parade and party (we take MARTA). That’s always fun, especially when you’ve been drinking free beer since 11am! LOL If anyone who will not be at the Beer Fest wants to join us in L5P around 5pm on Saturday, let me know.
We have nothing booked for Saturday night and Sunday and I think it’s going to stay that way. I should be leaving for my trip next week – hopefully – so I’ll need to get all my shit together for that. (Crap, we’ve got dinner booked for Sunday. May have to cancel…)
