I got through yesterday without any fever. I actually worked all afternoon and had an appetite for dinner.
Today I rode with Nick to work to pick up my car (we had the truck in the shop for $1600 of maintenance so my car ended up at his work) and I’ve felt pretty much normal today. I won’t jinx myself by proclaiming victory just yet.
We’re supposed to drive to Zebulon GA tonite to check out a 1965 Galaxie that is 90% restored. The main caveat is that the shifter is broken so it can’t be driven, it must be trailered. The dude is practically giving it away at $4000, however, which is why we’re even entertaining the thought of getting it. The engine is brand new, bored out 289, chromed and painted. The wheels are new. The top is new (albeit uninstalled). The interior is completely new. Most of the body is new. All the extra parts come with it. The items remaining to be done to make it 100% are: replace rusted out quarterpanels, buy new front bumper, fix shifter, get it painted. The car will be worth at least $8000. At least.
So, that’s the news from Casa Mizgala. I’ll keep you posted on the Galaxie. :-) [edit: not this one, my friends! No Galaxie yet, but I’ll have one, just you watch!]

Nice, so is there a old hotrod at the crib now?
oh on the truck, was it the transmission mount that was gone?
