Guess what? I’ve got some drama!! Ladies, start your Llamas!! :-) I’ll not be joining you, though, I just can’t seem to get really rattled by this. Sorry! You can feel free to ride for me! :-)
I was at a questionable site yesterday when I was checking prices for phentermine (allpillsrx dot com – SCAM SCAM SCAM!!) and I put my CC # into the cart software then thought better of it and backed out. Or maybe I tried to click through? I can’t remember, but either way, the transaction appeared to stall, then the cart was emptied – NOT normal behaviour! The empty cart was actually someone snagging the CC info from the cart. They used my CC overnight but the funny part is that they were making these HUGE transactions, hell one was $9800 or so! Yah, no one will notice THAT, ya morons!
So, today when I was out, I had to go to Sally and while there decided to check out the Avenue next door. For some reason, I pulled out my biz Visa for the transaction and it was declined. I knew right then that my CC # had been stolen. So I called Nick and sure enough, there was almost $30k put on the account, and it was showing $24k overdrawn! Ha! Of course the damn bank had not called or anything. ::shakes head:: If this was Amex, it would all be handled within 20 minutes – and they would have called me.
I went to the bank and of course they can’t do anything because I have to call the Fraud department. So I finish my errands and come to call the Fraud people. After 15 minutes on hold and one asshole hanging up on me, I find out that they can’t do anything until this crap posts. ::rolls eyes:: So, it’ll take another hour of my time to fuck around with the bank tomorrow, but overall this is not a big deal.
When I went to look at the account a minute ago, all the huge charges had already been rescinded and there are only two vendors left with about $350 in charges that have not been rescinded. I sent them both emails advising what happened, but if they don’t reply, they will be hearing from Bank of America shortly.
Although it’s shocking to see those kinds of numbers, I’m not really concerned since I’m not liable. It’s more of an inconvenience than anything. I don’t anticipate closing the account, just changing the card #. Fortunately I only had a couple of things on auto pay with this card.
Also fortunate is that this account is totally stand alone from our personal account – otherwise this would be UGLY.
As it is, it should all be fine by tomorrow or Monday. :-)
