Missy’s Present and other Show & Tell

So, we’re having coffee and reading the paper yesterday morning, enjoying the lovely weather and watching the birds and at the feeders. DJ is chatting with us on the deck and Missy is skulking around the yard. I get up to use the bathroom and see this on my bathmat:

So, it seems that Missy Kat heard me talking about her lack of desire to hunt and decided that I needed a refresher course in Chipmunk 101. We never saw her come into the house! I’m just happy she chose the bathmat rather than the bed – which she would have used had the bathroom door been closed!  The damn thing was still warm – icky! When I looked out from the bathroom to see if she was lurking, she was having some kibble… Presumably to remove the taste of chipmunk from her mouth! LOL

Ah, it made me think of Bernie the Great Striped Huntress and her many chipmunk meals. Miss Kitty is not interested in eating the varmint, apparently, she was just making a statement. I guess she wanted us to know that Bernadette was not the only one who could hunt – but Bernie was the only one who’d eat the prey. Missy is far too housecat for that.

I love cats. They never cease to surprise. Like this shot, for instance:

These two have never been “close” but it appears that when it’s just the two of them, they are working it out. I also caught them laying on the deck together the other day. Cats are so interesting in the way they structure their hierarchy. I think girl cats don’t get along as well as boy cats. You should probably only have one girl cat for each herd. Missy is still a bit rude to poor DJ – she waps him and acts like she’s gonna wash his head then bites his ears – but they hang out much more than they used to. I’ll bet they become a pair like DJ and Dickens used to be. That would be nice.

And for our final show and tell today, a pic of Missy being hella cute:

Go ahead and rub my belly! You feelin’ lucky, PUNK?  :-)
