I’ve been quiet on the subject of politics for a while now, but today I have the time and desire to vent my spleen about the current batch of bullshit that passes for government in this country.
Government vs citizens’ rights. The government HAS NO RIGHTS unless we say so. THEY work for US. In theory. The last couple of decades, however, have fostered the notion that the President and all of Congress are royalty. These so-called public servants have access to top notch health care for FREE and for LIFE, are above the law and are not subject to any of the annoyances that we peasants must deal with daily. They can vote themselves a raise any time they wish. They can vote to take our money without our consent, violate our civil rights and dictate rules for our personal lives. This is not the way it should be. The government is supposed to be representative of the citizenry, yet ours is controlled by insurance companies, big pharma and anyone else with deep pockets. Anyone who thinks money can’t buy you whatever you want in the US government is delusional.
Speaking of civil rights… There have been two flights turned around and escorted by fighter jets in the past month for such heinous crimes as getting drunk and writing a stupid comment on a comment card. FIGHTER JETS. Talk about idiotic overreactions! How much money did those asinine little follies cost? The Dept of Homeland Security and the TSA are nothing but bureaucratic money drains. Why not put that money to, oh, I dunno, THWARTING terrorism around the world rather than harassing Americans? The TSA is run by gate employees who barely have a GED yet they have the authority to harass, detain and even ARREST you. The government has decided that you lose your right to refuse illegal search and seizure as soon as you step into an airport and all the sheeple just let it happen. Do you really think that your civil liberties are NOT being chipped away? Are you stupid? Every time the government encroaches on your liberties in the name of “safety” it is against our constitution and it should NOT be allowed. Are Americans really this dumb? Apparently.
If you think that ANY of the civil liberties that have gone by the wayside will EVER come back, you deserve to lose them.
