Time for a little geekery and a big ProTip!
If any of you check Gmail online and have noticed SPAM ads in your inbox, it’s because of the tabs they installed. The Promotions and Social tabs are nothing more than places for them to stick ads. ARGH! Go to Settings and turn the tabs off – VOILA! No more ads. Not sure if this is also in the mobile app – let me know, would you?
To do this, go to Settings (gear icon) -> Configure Inbox and turn the tabs off except for Primary – VOILA! No more ads. Here are a couple of screen shots to guide you. First is what the tabs look like and second is where to turn them off.
