Ask and you shall receive!

OH, I just love my boi!! He got a wild hair and upgraded his MT yesterday and found out that it was painless, so he came home and upgraded mine last night!

Yay! Welcome to the newly refurbed Misangela.com!

And a big Thank You! to my darling hubby for doing my upgrade!

I’ve seen a couple of odd things with fonts, but overall, the upgrade seems to be seamless. I need to rebuild the site again and I think the oddities will go away.

I found out that I have 300+ comments (!!) which all made the upgrade as well as the pop up windows I used here and there. All my categories made it and it appears that not one little thing got hosed. I’m amazed! :-)

No more spam bots for me! Everyone please try out the comments so I can check out the new comments management system. Thanks!

Ugh!

I swear, I’m going to fix this place up. I have an idea for a new layout, but I’m just too lazy to do it. Well, I am pretty busy right now, too, but basically it’s laziness.

I also really need to install the newest incarnation of MT, but dammit, it’s SUCH a huge pain in the ass. ::sigh:: Maybe I can talk my hosting guys into doing it for me!! How trifling is that??

I just hate installing MT. It’s a pita and it’s hard and there’s no guarantee that my shit will reimport like it should.

I’ll just have to suck it up after the new year, I think. Maybe I’ll get Paul (my hosting guy) to move me to the spiffy new server and just get it all over with in one fell swoop. Yuck. Just the thought makes me shudder.

Well, we’ll see. I feel a need to change some stuff around, so call it Blog Feng Shui. Heh. I wonder if this is an East House blog or a West House blog?

Revenge of the Chick!

Ha! Today I was chatting with a friend who happens to be the sister of a Chick I recently broke up with. My friend was pissed at her sister the chick for screwing up her Christmas Dinner this year.

You see, the Chick pitched a fit when she discovered that her sister has no problem with me. Actually, we’re pretty good friends at this point, and I’m invited to the yearly Christmas Dinner, as usual. The chick wants to make sure that we (well, really me, since I’m the one silly enough to fight with her) are not at the big to-do Christmas Party this year since she now hates me and I’m the devil and she is afraid that I’ll call her out in front of the people she’s recruited to be “on her side”. Well, my friend, who has the same trouble that I do understanding chick behaviour, does not understand why her chick sister is being such a total asshole about the dinner. My friend throws it, pays for it and hosts it at her home and she can’t understand why her sister has anything to say about the guest list (her husband is over it, too). But the chick has gotten the family involved to bolster her position and guarantee that she’ll get her way, so my friend is stuck between Chick Revenge and inviting me to her home for the dinner. I told my friend today: there is no understanding chicks, so don’t worry about us, we will not be hurt in the slightest by not going to the party.

Trek Geeks Unite!

The new issue of Wired has an 8 page article about some Trek geeks that make episodes of the original Star Trek with Bones, Spock and Kirk. I go to DragonCon every year and I’ve not heard of this project before! It’s called Star Trek New Voyages, and these guys are hard core! They have been producing hour long episodes of their new series with help from many people involved with Trek and even Paramount allows them to do this as long as they make no money.

I present to you: New Voyages! Go forth and download!!

I’m gonna post this over at the DragonCon LJ just to see if I’ve been truly oblivious to this or perhaps they really haven’t promoted it at the Con.

In any case, it’s a very interesting project and they certainly seem to have a lot of help… Koenig is in the next episode. How ’bout that?
