Traffic Jam July 16

I didn’t write anything about this ‘cuz Nick did, but this story has spun into a much bigger one. Coming back from Knoxville a couple of weeks ago, we got stuck in a nasty traffic jam that lasted 2 hours. It was near Cassville-White Rd exit on I-75, about an hour north of Atlanta.
Here is the best shot we got of the accident clean up – it was dark by the time we filed past it:

But the story doesn’t end there.

No, the truck driver’s sister found Nick’s post and commented to him about it at his blog. Her name is Bobbie. She has never given us her brother’s name or any personal info, however, she did relay the horrible events that led to that accident that has rendered her brother paralyzed with crushed arms and hands and left his girlfriend dead. Bobbie lives in Mississippi, so I assume that her brother does, too.

I emailed her back with every scrap of info I was told by the truckers who were relaying info back (not much, sadly) and told her that we suspected the accident was caused by a passenger car, since accidents usually are caused by idiot drivers who have better things to do than pay attention while driving 90mph.

If anyone out there was on I-75 north of Atlanta near Cassville-White Rd exit around 5pm on July 16th and saw ANYTHING, please comment here and I’ll put you in contact with Bobbie. She is devastated by the near loss of her only brother and the years of recovery ahead of him. She is looking for any information available about the accident.

The moral to this story is:

Pay attention to trucks. They can’t stop, they can’t dodge in and out of traffic. They can’t get out of YOUR way, asshole, so put down the cell phone and GIVE THEM ROOM.

Not every trucker on the planet will be as caring as this guy. Frankly, I wish he’d smashed the cars and saved himself. From what I gather the people in the cars didn’t even STOP. May they get all that they deserve.

Fear and Loathing: Summer Edition

I’m FOUL today, just plain FOUL. I pity all who must interface with me.

I hate every person on this stinking rock in space. I’m OVER people. Everybody.

I’m over my back hurting (this will be 3 weeks running).
I’m over feeling like SHIT from the time I wake up until the time I fall asleep.
I’m over my fat ass that’s totally immune to diet/exercise. Why can others do 30 mins of exercise a day and lose 30#, but I can do it and lose only 5? That SUCKS. How many goddam salads can one eat and still be fat? Gods dammit!!!
I’m over asshole people who don’t appreciate me.
I hate my jobs.
I’m bored.
I’m sick of helping people out only to have my time wasted because they don’t give a shit about whatever it was they asked me to do in the first place. Here’s a hint: DON’T ASK ME TO DO YOUR BULLSHIT. MY TIME COUNTS, TOO, YOU KNOW. Assholes.
I hate that Dave is now an invalid and I will have to devote much of my time to taking care of him. It’s not something I particularly want to do, yet I would never NOT do it. It’s a strain that I really don’t need now.
I’m tired of having no voice in anything I do. I just do tasks, but I don’t create. It sucks.
I detest this nasty ass town and I want to move.
I’m in a rut emotionally, sexually, intellectually, physically. In every way.
AND PEOPLE WHO CALL MY FUCKING CELL PHONE B/C THEY CAN’T FIGURE OUT WHICH NUMBER IS WHICH!!!! ARGH!! 404=HOME 678=CELL, which COSTS ME MONEY. GAH! WHAT is SO fucking hard to understand??!! I have sense enough to avoid paying cell contracts, hence my cell bill is about $10/mo – even with all the bullshit calls that I have to deal with due to the above conditions. GRRR.

I have on my two flip off Foamy shirt today. It barely scratches the surface of my loathing.

If you don’t need to call me or anything, I’d strongly suggest NOT until I’m over this little episode of Fear and Loathing: Summer Edition. If you do, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

How ’bout this weather?

We in the south are used to HOT, but the poor inhabitants of Europe are having a time of it. The heatwave is as bad or may be worse than the one in 2003, with temps in at 100°F in London! At the Zoo, the big cats get blood popsicles and the primates get fruit ones. Mmmm, bloody popsicles!!

Our a/c unit is running almost continuously now. We’re so glad we got a new one last year! Despite its running all the time, we’re still seeing about 25% savings on our power bills.

HOOD card

I found the HOOD card that McKinney sent out last year:

See any white people? NO. That’s because it was mailed to 30032, where apparently, only black people live. Hmmm. Ended up in my mailbox. McKinney has not, does not and will not ever be concerned with white people. She is only concerned with black people. Her supporters support terrorism. She thinks she’s above the law. She has several employees do her work while she travels everywhere on the taxpayers’ dime. She is so arrogant that she thinks she shouldn’t have to debate or even SAY what her positions are.

Some people seem to think that she hung the moon and she is a great rep. I think they are out of their minds. Whatever. I’ll keep voting to get her out and I hope others who see her for the leech that she is will do the same.

Yes, I’d rather have a “do nothing” commissioner as a rep than a nasty, arrogant DO NOTHING rep who uses her office to only represent a portion of her constituents.

Vote HANK JOHNSON on August 8!! [6/09: we did and the bitch is gone! yay! Mr Johnson is a very sweet soft spoken man and I like him. -A]

Hooray! Our votes for Johnson worked!

It’s good to know that those of us who see McKinney for the bigot she truly is can manage enough votes to block her continued domination of our district.

We’ve managed to beat her down enough for a runoff on Aug 8th, which will hopefully rid our district of her once and for all. I was recently informed of her stellar fight against all things Bush and her support of gays, Jews and all minorities and other “good deeds”. What a load of CRAP. Jews? Wasn’t that her FATHER who said the problems of this country were because of J-E-W-S? It’s funny how these supporters have such selective memory when it comes to McKinney. It’s even funnier that I’m called an ignorant racist because McKinney’s blatant racism pisses me off. I really can’t stand people who think blacks can’t be bigots/racists. Anyone who lives in Dekalb County GA and can’t see the blatant racism of the county government is just plain silly. Vernon Jones is ON RECORD saying he wants the government of the county to “reflect its true colors”, which is the same implication as Nagin’s “chocolate city” comment. Nagin got reelected, too, you’ll recall. So what does that say about black people? It says that they can be just as racist as white people. They are not immune to it or excused from it, which is the apparent belief that many seem to have.

Let me illuminate the McKinney legacy via some articles I’ve rounded up from various sources:

The list goes on and on. She MUST GO. I’ve been called a racist for calling HER a racist. Hmm. Well, you know, black people can’t be racists, isn’t that the rule? The bottom line is that her whole existence is hinged on the black population of South Dekalb County. She has no use for the rest of her district. I KNOW, I live in the “supported” part of Dekalb county and I see the racist postcards and flyers that she and her supporters put in our mailbox. I’ll scan those to prove my point (Here is the postcard See any white people? Nope. Apparently there are none in her district.). I think that the liberal white people who support McKinney simply don’t get it. They live in N DeKalb and they don’t receive the propaganda that we do, living in the ‘hood (HER description, btw). (And even when they SEE the propaganda for themselves, they “don’t see anything wrong with it.” ARGH! Hope the weather is nice on whatever planet they live on. )

Yay for us getting a runoff! Let’s see if we can rid ourselves of the pox of the McKinney family once and for all on Aug 8th!
