Polaroid Instant Film [updated 8/1/09]

Despite rumours otherwise, Polaroid is still intending to drop its famous instant film. Doesn’t look like any other company has picked it up yet. Ha! Yes there is a company who is picking up the Polaroid mantle! Polapremium! Yay! And more good news, they bought the manufacturing equipment and plan to start production of integral film in early 2010. W00t! Glad I held onto my vintage Polaroid!

This very helpful site says that Fujifilm makes film that will work in Polaroid cameras… Yes, apparently they do make film for Polaroids.

Despite the teeth gnashing, it certainly looks like Polaroid film will be available. Yay! I intend to pull out my family’s old Polaroid (100?) and try it out! Plus, I really like the Polaroid art prints that have been manipulated or transferred.

I’m glad I saw that news article and did this research! Perhaps it will serve to help others interested in Polaroid cameras!

That’s too bad

I really love Goodbye Kitty stuff. I know it’s the Neko cat from old computer software and that’s partially why I love it – and I don’t really have a problem with the Goodbye Kitty art, it’s just an old computer icon. But it’s too bad that Todd Goldman is just a copy cat shmuck and much of the stuff David and Goliath sells are his copies of other comics and art. He has made a mint off of copied artwork and that is really awful of him. As much as I hate to, I have to boycott Goldman’s crap – which means basically all of the stuff on davidandgoliathtees.com. That bums me out. But, hey, I can’t keep giving money to some asshat who steals ideas and neither should you.

As lawmakers struggled Friday to clean up the mess on Wall Street,
sponsors of the Orphan Works Act passed more special interest
legislation. Their bill would force copyright holders to subsidize giant
copyright databases run by giant internet firms.

Etsy!

I’m probably the only person who did not know about Etsy, but now I do and I want to make sure MY peeps know about it. Supporting handmade products is important!

Etsy is THE place for any and all handmade wares: jewelry, knitting, crafts, art – you name it. I heard about it from Jennie Breeden’s LJ. She’s going to sell some of her original art and several people suggested Etsy. There is art from $5 to $1000s on Etsy. It’s amazing and I just now found out about it! GAH!

This is where I will sell my handmade jewelry when/if I ever have the time to get back in the studio and MAKE said jewelry.

So go to Etsy now! Christmas is right around the corner!
