To my wonderful friends

A friend is one to whom you may pour out the contents of your heart,
Chaff and grain together knowing that the
gentlest of hands
Will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping
And with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.

Answers to movie quotes

Ok, here are the answers to yesterday’s quiz:

1. “Therman Murman??!! Jesus, kid!!”

2. “It’s not a tumor!”

3. “Sometimes you gotta say ‘What the fuck?'” (2 possible characters for this)

4. “He is a boil on the butt of humanity!”

5. “Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?” (again, 2 possible characters)

ANSWERS

1. Thurman was The Kid in Bad Santa. Santa asks the Kid, “What’s your name, kid?” and the kid says “Thurman Merman” and Santa says, “Thurman Merman?! Jesus, Kid!!” Willie (Santa) played by Billy Bob Thornton.

2. From Kindergarten Cop when Det John Kimble says he’s got a headache and this kid says, “It’s a tumor!” and John replies, “It’s NOT a tumah!”. That one’s easy. Kimble played by, of course, Ahnold.

3. The WTF quote was from Risky Business and was said by several characters. The first time was by the villain, Guido, then notably at the end by Joel (Tom Cruise).

4. “…boil on the butt…” is from Steel Magnolias, said by Ouizer (Shirley MacLaine). That one is really hard, I think, but I remember it because it’s where I get “wart on the ass of humanity” – one of my fave sayings.

5. Rush Hour, of course. The line is first spoken by Det Carter (Chris Tucker) when he meets Det Lee (Jackie Chan) at the airport then again by Lee at the end of the movie when Carter is trying to speak Chinese.

Guess that movie

I’ve got a fun game for today! I’ll give you a quote from a movie and you tell me which movie it’s from and said by which character. Winner gets… um… Winner gets accolades on my site? Ha! This contest has sprung up from the fact that I have a quote stuck in my head from a convo with Nick last night and can’t get rid of it!! GAH! (Nick, you are disallowed in this contest!) And  yes, these are easy, but they amuse me, ok? :-)

1. “Therman Murman??!! Jesus, kid!!”

2. “It’s not a tumor!”

3. “Sometimes you gotta say ‘What the fuck?'” (2 possible characters for this)

4. “He is a boil on the butt of humanity!”

5. “Do you understand the words that are a-coming out of my mouth?” (again, 2 possible characters)

Ok, enough screwing around. I really do have work to do that I’ve put off until after 1pm. ::sigh::

That’s too bad

I really love Goodbye Kitty stuff. I know it’s the Neko cat from old computer software and that’s partially why I love it – and I don’t really have a problem with the Goodbye Kitty art, it’s just an old computer icon. But it’s too bad that Todd Goldman is just a copy cat shmuck and much of the stuff David and Goliath sells are his copies of other comics and art. He has made a mint off of copied artwork and that is really awful of him. As much as I hate to, I have to boycott Goldman’s crap – which means basically all of the stuff on davidandgoliathtees.com. That bums me out. But, hey, I can’t keep giving money to some asshat who steals ideas and neither should you.

New version of WP

And they have UNDONE some of the functionality. Dumbasses. For instance, on this post page, I can no longer rearrange the various sections in a way that works for me, oh no, now I have to scroll to the bottom of the page to get to the LJ crossposter and every other damn setting. GRR. The old version let you drag and drop the sections to where YOU wanted them. Why would they take that OUT? Also, the LJ Crosspost plugin has been acting up, so this is a post to see if it’s better now or not. I think LJ has changed something on their end, which has caused the plugin to act oddly. It’s crossposting and I can sort of edit posts, but I get weird errors.

Here it goes. If this doesn’t work, no more cross posting until it’s fixed. ::click::
