This is a remake done by Rob Zombie for the House of 1000 Corpses soundtrack. It’s one of my most played iPod songs. Lionel Richie was on board for the remix and Trina did the rap lyric. Now, I’ve been listening to that rap for ages and there were parts I couldn’t catch, so today I endeavored to puzzle out that rap once and for all. I checked several lyric sites and they all had it wrong. I knew she was referencing Ferragamo stilettos in that line, I could clearly hear that part. The lyric sites are probably wrong because it was men doing the ‘translations’. So, after about an hour of going over the rap one line at a time, I think I have the REAL rap! Not bad for someone who’s white and nerdy… Here’s the video with the rap below.
Brickhouse 2003 rap lyric by Trina
I’m a chick from the South
built like a brick house
bad to the bone
fatty girl stalli-ON
brick house amazon
I stay fly, yo
with a body that a grown man would cry fo’
when I walk niggas whistle (video: “when I walk, make ‘em whistle”)
I keep ‘em hotter than a missile
when I’m doing my thizzle
36-24-36
Hands on my hips
when I walk with a switch
Gautier dress, Ferragamo stilettos
class-y, but you can tell I’m still ghetto
a ride to this, a slide to this
fit slim in the waist when I lie you back, whoa
petite but I beat to death
i’m the baddest bitch (video: chick) y’all keep the rest
Brick
House
and my walk is mean
and I stay on the scene so fresh, so clean (video: “and I step in the club so fresh, so clean”)
The record version is dirty and the live version is clean, but finally after about 6x, I got the line: Gautier dress, Ferragamo stilettos. Damn, that was HARD. The video helped with the line and it makes sense with those words, as opposed to “I’m okay as along as I got more stilettos” or “naughty custom made stilettos.” So, there ya go, the CORRECT lyric for Trina’s rap.
It’s a really great cover – one of the best evah! Enjoy!
